The Heritage Foundation has some information you should know about the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act.
Senate Immigration Bill Would Allow 100 Million New Legal Immigrants over the Next Twenty Years
If enacted, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (CIRA, S.2611) would be the most dramatic change in immigration law in 80 years, allowing an estimated 103 million persons to legally immigrate to the U.S. over the next 20 years—fully one-third of the current population of the United States.

The US Senate should now be named The Roman Senate. They are just as corrupt and are workign to bring down this country. I am telling you all, it is time to give DC an long over-due enema.

John, that’s not a pleasant image (BTW - term limits is one way to keep DC’s bowels clean).
Within 30 minutes of the President Bush’s speech I heard about five different sets of figures regarding the impact of his proposed legislation. His ideas are added to the House bill and the Senate’s bill discussed above.
The other unpleasant image I am getting from the immigration debate is an unworkable bureaucracy that eventually rewards people that are illegally in the USA at the expense of others that have systematically pursued the legal path toward citizenship. “Close enough” may be good in horseshoes and hand grenades, but it’s a pretty sorry standard when applied to immigration reform.

Kiwon p;easant or not it is so close to our present reality.
I have heard it postulated this is a move to make a border free nation from what is currently North America in order to compete with the EU. I used to think this was insane talk but after reading these facts now I think I was crazy for not seeing it clearly all along.

This is how the mighty fall, we are being sold out by those we send to washington to protect our interests. Where are the statesmen? These morons are leading us off a cliff.
