The Story: Hamas 'Mickey Mouse' character teaches hatred on a Palestinian children's television show urging children "to fight Israel and work for global Islamic domination."
Background: The show was exposed by the Jerusalem Post and the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) which provided an english translation.
Print media coverage: There were two types of headlines used to present the same material. This is where the bias becomes obvious.
1. Hamas 'Mickey Mouse' Wants Islam Takeover.
2. Hamas 'Mickey Mouse' Preaches Resistance.
Television coverage: Very scant. Glenn Beck of CNN was planning a feature on this and guess what happened? CNN invented a translation controversy over one word to pull the whole story - the whole story!
The original translation had been reviewed internally by CNN and independently SIX TIMES, but right before air time the story gets scrubbed by unknown CNN executives. Blatant media bias to kill the story.
Listen to Glenn Beck's explanation of what happened.

Well I thought Fox covered it as well as can be expected from a major media source. But you are right about the drive by media and their coverage.

How exactly did we get the Tass News Agency?
How exactly did the free market press come to be dominated by one viewpoint from the left?

Bernard Goldberg's, Bias, gives a concise overview of the shift in journalism.
Most people dismiss the significance of the MSM's bias, but with America at war overseas and the threat of terrorism on American soil ever present, the scoffers had better wake up and realize that there is a dangerous elite in the media that wants to control what they see and how they think.
The stakes are too high for people to remain blissfully ignorant to what is taking place.

It does mean the free market in media has failed to provide a free market in ideas, if the ideas seem as diverse as those of the bygone Soviet press.

Exactly my proposed answer. One of my faves among my conservo book collection. Really excellent book IMHO.
Must read for anyone interested in the mainstream media and their bias's.
