I always run into lib's who say they just want "a little socialism." I call them socialists on a sliding scale. I try to point out to them, that their leadership are the one's who will actually decide how much Marxism/Socialism their going to get. Communism run by Jesus, probably would be pretty good, but it all goes downhill fast from there. Unfortunately, these people do not read history, or somehow, just somehow...they believe "their leaders" will finally get it right. They don't know that Marx, himself, said you start with socialism, but end with communism.
Like following a Pied Piper these lemmings will sell their independence and their liberty for the so-called safety of government programs. What they don't see or understand is that, the more they give away to the government, the less freedom and choice they will have. But it's almost like talking to a "Moonie", their eyes glaze over and their head tilts like my dog, not understanding a single thing coming out of my mouth. Their already lost.
They have already bought into the Big Lie, and are like brainwashed zombie's, unable to think for themselves.
I try to tell them about the failing of Marxism under Lenin, and Stalin, of how it was preached, but then, how it was actually enforced upon citizens. The upper crust of the Communist party lived like rock stars, while the peasants lived in slums. Because they are not students of history, or because they have bought the tripe being sold at college campuses, again, they do not believe. I wonder sometimes, what will it take to wake them up?
