Let the Games Begin!

Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito Jr.

By Don from Lake Ronkonkoma

Harry Reid is not happy with the SCOTUS pick of Sam Alito Jr.
Alito was not one of the names he recommended. Looks like there will be trouble abrewing.

On Sunday, Senator Reid and other Democrats sought to capitalize on the president’s political vulnerabilities and low poll numbers as he picked a nominee.

“If he wants to divert attention from all of his many problems, he can send us somebody that is going to create a lot of problems,” Mr. Reid said. “I think this time he would be ill advised to do that. But the right wing, the radical right wing, is pushing a lot of his buttons, and he may just go along with them.”

The Democratic National Committee also sent out talking points this morning titled: “Judge ‘Scalito’ Has Long History Of States Rights, Anti-Civil Rights, And Anti-Immigrant Rulings.” More from the DNC’s anti-Italian American talkers: “Alito is often referred to as ‘Judge Scalito’ because of his adherence to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s right-wing judicial philosophy.”

In the words of President Bush….Bring It On!

and Let the Games Begin!

I don’t know much about this nominee, but judging from the abject outrage from the communist party leaders, he sounds like someone that I could support!

Mark says he’s great! That’s music to my ears!

  3. Long Island Pete says:

As soon as he was referred to as Scalito, I was very happy and knew the looney left would be getting into a tizzy. Yes Don, let the games begin. And to all my real American friends… Lets FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

  4. DonLkRonk says:

Two liberal Senators who approved of Alito in 1990

SEN. TED KENNEDY (D-MA): “You Have Obviously Had A Very Distinguished Record, And I Certainly Commend You For Long Service In The Public Interest. I Think It Is A Very Commendable Career And I Am Sure You Will Have A Successful One As A Judge.” (Sen. Ted Kennedy, Committee On The Judiciary, U.S. Senate, Hearing, 4/5/90)

SEN. FRANK LAUTENBERG (D-NJ): “I Believe Mr. Alito Has The Experience And The Skills To Be The Kind Of Judge The Public Deserves – One Who Is Impartial, Thoughtful, And Fair. I Urge The Senate To Confirm His Nomination.” (Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Congressional Record, 4/27/90, p. S5281)

They have quickly changed their minds. This is the fight I have waited for. I calling you out McCain, Lindsay Graham, Olympia Snow Susan Collins, John Warner, Mike DeWine, and Lincoln Chaffee

  5. CharliePaTpk says:

    Ahhhh… I cannot wait!

In spite of his impressive record and his slam-dunk of the Senate, Chief Justice John robert’s confirmation lacked the intensity of a philosophical battle.

Time to open a can of whoop-ass

  6. Sunny says:

Judge Alito is off to a good start.

Federal judges have a duty to interpret the Constitution and the laws faithfully and fairly, to protect the constitutional rights of all Americans, and to do these things with care and restraint, always keeping in mind the limited role that the courts play in our constitutional system.

  7. saxmachine says:

Mark likes him and the Commiecrats don’t, what more could you ask for. In the immortal words of the late Marvin Gaye, Let’s Get It On!!

  8. trinity says:

The libs make me laugh with their ridiculous demands that this President nominate a “consensus” candidate to replace Sandra Day O’Connor’s “swing” vote. Well, swing this!

You want a consensus candidate so badly, YOU nominate one, if and when YOUR party wins the White House! What the heck is a consensus candidate anyhow?? Some weak-minded moderate whom you can pull to the Left once they’re confirmed? I don’t think so! Not this time!
