Some poor guy is hurting after being literally torn in half. Apparently, this tragedy happened when Mark Levin disagreed with Beck saying, “John McCain would have been worse for the country than Barack Obama.”
It really, really…….. *REALLY* pains me to say this, but Mark Levin is wrong. But in Mark’s defense, I have little doubt he only heard some sound bite of Beck’s words, and may not yet have heard the whole commentary about McCain/Obama. I hate it when the complicit progressive media catches one of us. — Free Republic thread, September 25, 2009
While Halfman had “no use” for the “drivel,” he had no problem linking to TheWeek where, amazingly, the author used side-by-side Reuters photos of Glenn Beck next to some guy who looks .. er .. exactly like Mark Levin:

Here is my posted response:
It really “pains” you to say this that “Mark Levin is wrong.” Yeah, right. The “pain” you … feel must be from some preexisting illness or injury. I recommend you soon seek a medical diagnosis from the doctor you won’t see soon under the Obamacare that John McCain would, as President, have never provided you. Perhaps what hurts you is memory of an old warrior, John McCain, who would not now be squandering America’s best and bravest — as Obama is squandering them while he looks both to lose in Iraq and [for] the least painful (politically) exit from Afghanistan. (There’s more; I’m just warming up.)
Why not help ease this Beck fan’s discomfort by commenting here? Perhaps then you will also copy and paste it into the Free Republic thread addressed to Halfmanhalfamazing.

The part that amazes me is that Frum thinks that he (himself) is a serious conservative and dislikes Beck. We know how Mark and he (Frum) think of each other. If I were Beck I would consider being disliked by Levin better than being disliked by Levin and also loved by Frum. In fact nothing is as bad as being liked by Frum.
I half suspect that is Beck’s Freeper username.
I think that was the dumbest thing Beck has ever said and his little explanation in no way convinced me otherwise. That little incident went a long way to taking anything beck says seriously, no longer.
One big example. Under McCain we would still have missile defense in Europe and not have capitulated to Russia.
I think Beck was trying to say that having JC II (Jimmy Carter II) in the WH is better because it will cause the right to rise up in unison…and some how, a Ronald Reagan-like figure will ‘appear’ and lead us to victory in 2010 and 2012. Beck is aiming low, and this is why I suspect Levin is so upset.
What Levin is trying to build is a foundation for long term – read that a 100 years+ – success. He’s not looking for or expecting a complete victory in 2010 or 2012, but rather a victory of the human spirit, the patriotic spirit, the spirit of Americanism over the statism that is pervading every aspect of society at this time. Political victories are hollow if we give up our gains every two, four, or six years. Political gains disappear if we grow complacent when our team is in. Does Levin want to win seats? Of course! But I suspect he wants that same passion and drive that is sweeping the nation to be there year after year…and that is the difference. Beck is now. Beck is not about long term.
Conservatism isn’t a quick burn, it isn’t something that is fired up when the wrong person is in office and quickly fades into the woodwork when the situation is livable. Conservatism is something that burns in the soul, it is the very blood of patriotism. Conservatives live and breathe their political views every day – they stand outside Planned Parenthood with signs, they go to their houses of worship, they get involved with organizations that serve the community without taking money from the government, they write or call their representatives, they show up to protest or support when necessary. Conservatives don’t need bells, whistles, or sirens to get their message across or to wake people up. If you are a conservative, you’re already awake.
Mark, you have commented before that you felt you were born two centuries too late and would have given anything to be there with our founders and framers. I thank God every day that you are here now – protecting what they created. They could have no finer son of Liberty, or no better steward of the Constitution. The battle and fight for what we conservatives hold dear is not only fought on the battlefield, but it is also fought in newspapers, on television, and on the airwaves with words. Words, written and spoken are your strength, Mark, and with these, you are a champion, as important to this great country as any soldier who has ever donned a uniform.
Beck acts as though we may have something left over to work with after an Obama encounter yet he simultaneously fears that we may never recover our political health and that even his media may be shut down. Which is it Mr. Beck? If Obama burns and destroys our cultural institutions, our heritage, values that created the Declaration, the Constitution and the Republic of the United States then he will rebuild it. He will replace everything with a monstrous socialist super bureaucracy that will never recognize individual human rights. If you believe and sense that everything may be forever altered and never restored then how in the World can you take that chance, for the sake of a conservative surge, so that people will recognize and understand what we are about and what we are losing if, in the process, we lose everything? McCain, even at his worst, would leave a sufficient amount of America intact and we, as conservatives, would have something left to change and fix as we have been doing before McCain and Obama were even candidates. Conservatism was on the ascendancy. Today everything is at risk. We now have to win before they prevail, because when you play for keeps tomorrow is forever.
Michelle Obama stated that this was the very first time that she felt proud about her country; a lot of us can now say that this is the very first time that they truly fear for this country, its future and her offspring. Now we don’t just ask for God’s blessing; we ask for his help, because we really do need it.
Ladies & gentlemen,
I believe there’s something ELSE in what Beck said that many seem to be overlooking. Something that makes ANY & ALL of his “explanations” for what he said utterly ABSURD.
Everyone keeps focusing on his remark that “(McCain) would’ve been worse for the country than Barack Obama”.
Granted, that’s bad enough on it’s own, for obvious reasons.
But before he even said that, he ALSO said that he MAY HAVE VOTED FOR HILLARY CLINTON AGAINST JOHN MCCAIN.
Now just stop and digest that for a moment.
MAY HAVE VOTED FOR HILLARY AGAINST MCCAIN.
Folks, this goes way, WAY beyond any sane “rationalization” of the idea that one side (Obama) would “galvanize” conservatives more than the other (McCain).
Why in the HELL would Beck even THINK about voting for Hillary Clinton??
Folks, we’re not talking about the usual “Third Party” blather, or the tried & tested failure of Operation “Stay-At-Home”.
He said he would have VOTED FOR HER!
OVER MCCAIN / PALIN!!
No, I’m sorry. Something stinks like 2-week-old sardines with this crap.
Beck’s response to all this—that he thought (or meant to imply) that Obama would somehow be better served to rally conservatism back into power if he were in the White house—does NOT pass the smell test. Not even by a long shot.
So come clean with us, Glenn—-WHY would you have gone to the next level by VOTING for these people??
Insanity. Absolute INSANITY.
You don’t understand; we needed this pain, these and future mind-bent children need entrenched with the debt so there is no escape, and America needs to become a third world country so Obama’s vision will live on long past him.
“McCain would have been worse for the country” because the antithesis to that is isolationist libertarianism yet we’d still end up a third world country. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is the cliff Glenn “Napoleon III” Beck wants us to march off. “Follow me,” he often says on his show, meaning “This ought to be fun to watch.” Americans embracing conservatism instead — returning to free market-based economy, remaining a free trader in the world, protecting our interests, allies, and trading partners by force when necessary, and limiting regulatory government at home through legislation — would spoil the show.
Beck stole the, “MAY HAVE VOTED FOR HILLARY CLINTON AGAINST JOHN MCCAIN”, line from Ann Coulter.
He’s a liar. PERIOD.
I never liked McCain for many, many reasons. During the campaign he lied when he saw that Romney was an effective challenger. Huckabee is making a lot of sense lately but I still remember how he unfairly badgered Romney to split the vote to enable a McCain victory. Many people on this site never liked Romney, but in the end he was a class act in the manner that he dealt with the liars and the political process that gives us our candidate. To me I not only watch what people stand for but how they do it. Obviously it is too early for a leader to emerge and sometimes the people you never noticed rise to the occasion. There are many democrat tricks and hurdles that will be employed that will come against freedom, using maximum force, to keep control. It was no accident that media coverage concerning bank and AIG failures came to a head in September as vast sums of money were transferred out of the money markets to make Bush fearful. Somehow Goldman Sachs got bailed out by Paulson who worked there along with Jon Corzine and Robert Rubin but Lehman Bros was not to big to fail. Plan on massive sums of money infused into the economy next year pre-election to illustrate how well all this borrowing is benefiting job creation and helping companies, large and small, to get back on their feet. Timing is everything and to me the spending, the propaganda and the timing have already been determined.
I shall be watching Beck every day and be taking notes, not as a student of course, but as a researcher.
When he talks about a specific subject matter, I shall be there to find exactly where he got his material in real time. Perhaps we need to post a thread of Glenn Becks uncited sources every day.
That seems to be a tremendously valuable service, since it seems Mr. Beck doesn’t have the money to pay additional staff to make notes as to where he got his info.
I would like to settle this matter and issue, the American Way!! So, let’s get David “I WANNA-BEE A CONSERVATIVE” Frum, Glenn Beck, and ANYBODY ELSE to debate the GREAT ONE, Mark Levin, on America’s Problems, and How We Can Solve Them? It is easy to be a “critic” and “fault finder”. This takes no skill whatsoever, HOWEVER, it takes real intellect, wisdom, knowledge, and thought to offer solutions. MARK LEVIN provides the latter; the others mentioned above(Frum, Beck, etc.) do not even deserve my attention.
Does anyone know who that is in the picture next to Beck?
I thought it was you.
Gull dern it, MLF. Now everyone in America knows what I look like.
I thought the guy in the photo next to Beck looked a lot like the Uncle Rico character from the movie “Napoleon Dynamite”, but I’m not really sure.
Beck may have stolen the “MAY HAVE VOTED FOR HILLARY CLINTON AGAINST JOHN MCCAIN” line from Ann Coulter……but the fact is, Coulter said that long BEFORE the election (not afterward), and as soon as Palin was named McCain’s running mate, she PUBLICLY SUPPORTED that ticket.
It’s now September 2009. We’re looking straight down the barrell at possible government-run healthcare, an potentially activist-run Supreme Court, a two-trillion-dollar deficit, a president who supports the idea of giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens (good grief, even MCCAIN wouldn’t support that!)….and worst of all, a spineless jellyfish on foreign policy while we’re in the middle of two wars while Iran is now ramping up efforts to acquire a nuclear bomb.
AND THIS A-HOLE TELLS CATIE COURIC ON NATIONAL TV THAT BOTH OBAMA & HILLARY ARE A BETTER ALTERNATIVE.
Oh yeah, I’m buying it. Feed me another shovel full of that “REAL conservative” horse sh*t, will ya, Glenn? Tastes GREAT!
Maybe Barack the Magic Unifier can take credit for an Afghanistan success by pointing out, that since he is he office, the death rate among U.S military and personnel is still less than what it currently is in Chicago, among ordinary citizens. Maybe be should chapmpion for the Olympics in Afghanistan. It would do wonders for their economy. Now if he attempted to do something like that while in Denmark, I’d say he had his eye on the war, where it should be, and was making a positive step toward building an impoverished nation while winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people. And he doesn’t even have to use all that much U.S. money to get a lot more bang than he got for the American stimulus package. He could even champion new competitions such as bomb building along with short, medium and long range sniper events. It is conceivable that, with temporary amnesty, the Taliban and Al Qaeda could become international competitors and receive World recognition. At the very least it would create a lull in the war and provide him with amply time to determine whether he wants to continue the troop buildup and which side of the conflict he wants to add those troops.
