Mark reported last night on the most recent court motions filed on behalf of Guantanamo Bay detainees and commented:

Note about ‘lawfare’: Maj. Michael Newton, a military lawyer who teaches at West Point, coined this new term in early 2004. It is the pursuit of strategic aims, the traditional domain of warfare, through aggressive legal maneuvers. Lawfare is a form of asymmetrical warfare that aims to constrain American power using the law. (Source: OpinionJournal.com)
