Craig scandal deflecting coverage of Clinton crime

by @ 10:20 am on August 31, 2007. Filed under Mark Levin Audio

Thursday, Mark pointed out that the Craig scandal was deflecting coverage of Hillary’s fund raising crimes.

Makes you wonder about the timing of the Larry Craig news, doesn’t it?

I don’t want a special prosecutor to nail the Clinton’s just a prosector to look into thier fund raising crimes.

When I used to play trivia online I met a lot of nice people.

One of them was a guy from Florida who worked for an Asian American who was a HUGE contributor to the DNC and the Clintons.
He said that in the bosses office pics of the boss with the Clintons were prominently displayed.

During the 96 campaign this boss probably had given all he could legally to the Clinton/Gore re-election campaign and decided to ask all his employees (I don’t know how many there were) to write a check for $1,000.00 to Clinton/Gore. The boss told them he would re-imburse them, which he did.
Actually, I forget now if this guy was a Republican or Democrat, but I believe he was pretty neutral if my memory is correct.

Somehow the boss was “found out” and this guy got involved so much so that when they held the Grand Jury inquiry into campaign funds this guy had to fly up to DC to testify.
I remember that he said he was testifying at the same time another GJ was convened looking into the Lewinsky affair.

Unfortunately, this Craig thing Hillary must be loving because it is keeping her off the front page for her fund raising crimes

I just left a similiar comment on the Levin Forum. I had to chuckle when I came here to read comments, as the thoughts are almost exact.

    Timing is indeed a factor.

  4. Liz says:

Why is Larry Craig waiting to vacate the premises until Sept 30?
Must you give “30 days notice” when you decide to resign from Congress?
I wish I knew the answer to that because THIS is going to play out unti Sept 30th and the cameras are waiting to record it.

Some are saying Michael Vick is loving this, but I think Hillary Clinton is loving it more.
This fundraising wasn’t getting enough coverage to begin with before this Craig incident came to light. Now for sure she is guaranteed it will be dropped.
The Clinton’s dodge yet another bullet.

Things that make you go ‘hmmmmmmmm……’

I agree with Liz, why hang around until September 30th? To satisfy your ego, or vote on something coming up?

Politicians with skeletons in their closets put us all at risk. Why? Enemies – political, in the media, or alien (foreign) can use those secrets as leverage. I wouldn’t quite classify it as extortion – as no money changes hands, but it’s probably more like blackmail for votes. Under threat of disclosure, I’m sure some politicians have changed their vote or their stance on an issue. It may explain why we’re left scratching our heads after a politician offers some lame excuse of why he or she changed his or her vote.

Politics is much dirtier than we’d like to think…and that may go a long way to explain why Her Thighness and Slick wallow happily and feed so well at the trough.

The American people are generally forgiving. Be straight with us about your transgressions when they happen or when you are running for office, and we will commend your honesty and usually give you another chance, depending on the severity. Dupe us or compromise our faith in you, and you will feel our rath.

It’s interesting that the bar is much lower on the Left, which just goes to show how morally twisted that side really is.

  6. Liz says:

    Anna,

I totally agree with everything you’ve said.

For years, scandal after scandal be it both sides I scratch my head wondering WHY?
WHY, especially in this day and age, where nothing is a secret does ANY politician believe they can hide a secret, any secret. Do they have the same kind of “people” that these Hollywood celebs have? The Yes people who convince them that no one will find out or care?

It’s almost as if they take us for fools.
Bill Clinton never thought his past would catch up with him, his womanizing would never come to light?
It is like extortion Anna without the $$ changing hands.
Politicians from opposing sides dig and dig and dig, and wait until they believe the timing is right. I seriously doubt that in 2000, 5 days before election day W’s political enemies just found out about his DUI which had been in the public records for nearly 3 decades. They had that info for months before but waited until they felt the timing was right. It nearly was.
Prior to that Thursday night, George W had a 4% lead in the polls. After that was disclosed it was a fight to the finish over 537 votes.

  7. Burlem says:

Clinton’s past caught up with him but the fact that he was impeached did not disturb him all that much, same as an indictment.
Other democrats have been found to have shady behavior but rarely if ever step down. Several in congress today, Reed (real estate) Jefferson (Pay off)Dodd, running for president
(shady sexual encounters) Kennedy, Dodds buddy
allowed a girl to die, and Dodd’s carousing buddy,Hillary’s campaign scandals.Barney Frank, Male Prostitution in his basement,Sandy Berger who got a slap on the wrist for stealing documents.
All are still there, no media exposure pounding them.
A side bar is the AG, Gonzalez, he was forced to step down but where was the outrage on Janet Reno?
Waco, Elian Gonzales just to name two.
Back to Bill Clinton. Monica was a convenient distraction from the National Security scandal that was beginning to break, That vital story disappeared just as Craigs story made the current scandal disappear.

  8. DubInDallas says:

I think that one reason that Conservatives actually step down from their posts when they are embroiled in a scandal is that the Drive-By Media still retains its power to stretch a story out and to keep the attention of the American electorate upon it as long as it serves their purposes. I think that the conservative politicians caught in scandal think that their resignations will at least shorten the duration of the story in the media. But this is not always the case!

Mark Foley resigned, but the Drive-By media continued to amplify the story all the way to the election, anyway. The Drive-By media would not let go of the George Allen “macaca” story, either!! The Alternative Media is, by contrast, so thoroughly occupied in REACTING to the Drive-By Media’s tactics that it cannot keep the public’s attention focussed on the things that hurt the Libs with anything like the harm that the Drive-By Media can inflict on the Conservatives.
But at least the alternative media can mitigate the harm done by the Drive-By media, and can even- to a lesser by still enormously significant degree- fight back!! Walter Cronkite had the ability fatally to undermine our efforts in Vietnam with just ONE broadcast!! Four years of Drive-By media have not been able to collapse our efforts in Afghanistan and in Iraq!! God bless Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Mark Levin and all of the rest of the Alternative Media that have managed to salvage as much of America’s greatness as they already have!!
