Mark Levin spoke with Doug Hoffman (NY-23), ‘a citizen who decided to take a stand’

Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman (NY-23) spoke with Mark Levin this evening. I cannot recall Mark ever speaking so forcefully in asking his listeners to support a candidate as he did for Mr. Hoffman’s campaign for Congress. One of the things Mark said (to Hoffman) was, “Your election is crucial, not just to you but to this nation.”

Here is his liberal Republican opponent, in a photo op gone wrong, when she foolishly attempted to hold a press conference in front of Doug Hoffman’s campaign headquarters:

Conservative candidate for U.S. Congress Doug Hoffman (NY-23), in the November 3 special election, points out that Republican Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava was on “Working Families Party” during “two of the last elections, the ticket supported by ACORN.” Mr. Hoffman asks, “How can you be a Republican and be on that party line with Barack Obama?” He adds, “Her biggest supporter online is Kos.” ‘Kos’ being Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas. On October 1, 2009, Kos wrote:

“So who to root for? A Blue Dog who would strengthen the Democrats’ corporatist faction, or a Republican version of a Lieberdem, who will probably be muzzled, but could — if she remained true to her record in Albany — be more of a Susan Collins-type Republican, a moderate in an ideologically rigid party willing to give the Dems fake “bipartisan” cover with crossover votes every once in a while. If Republicans lose the seat, it’ll dent that sense of momentum they believe is headed their way. If they win the seat, it will have been with a liberal Republican, suggesting that their path to electoral relevance in the northeast is to ditch the Southern-fueled ultra conservatism. Both are good for us.”

Mr. Hoffman says Ms. Scozzafava, “Is for card check. … She knew she was running for Congress this year when the [New York] state budget came up. This was the first budget in eleven years she voted down. … What she does not tell the people is she voted for tens year in a row for higher spending, higher taxes, for higher fees and penalties.”

  1. Anna says:

I was at a book signing last evening where a prominent Republican figure was asked about his endorsement of the RNC backed candidate. This is how he explained it:

#1. He wanted to build the Republican base in Washington by not letting a Republican seat go to the Democrats. (I take issue with this because the ‘Republican’ who is being replaced was one of the 7 who joined the Democrat’s on the Cap and Tax bill. This RNC candidate is even more to the left, and her promises are out of line with her historic record.)

#2. He claimed that Hoffman didn’t even register in 3 of the 4 meetings (I guess straw poll type things) that were recently held in the district. (Hard to do when you have no financial backing and are just starting out after years in the private sector!)

#3. He stated all the ‘other’ groups other than WFP / Acorn that support the RNC candidate, plus all the campaign promises she has proportably made. (Are we still naive enough to believe candidates or politicians? “Read my lips…” “I did not have sex with that woman…” )

#4. He stated she was not his first choice, but it was important to build a coalition…because this is bigger than party/Conservative purity. He then went on to cite that in November 1993, the first big Republican wins were from moderate to left leaning Republican candidates – namely Rudy Guiliani, and two other, while only one nationally prominent Conservative was elected. He stated that this set the stage for wins in 1994…because they were able to recruit more Republicans.

Let’s take a look at what is really at stake here.

Is electing the RNC candidate, to a Republican position, setting the stage for anything? Does it really change our power? Remember, there are 178 Republicans and 256 Democrats in the House…one more or one less is really not an issue. This is the only House election in the country, according to Hoffman. Where and how is this setting a stage for recruiting?!? Anyone ever been to District 23 in NYS? 14,000 square miles of over taxed New York citizens trying to hang on and build a future in stunningly beautiful country. They do not need the RNC telling them how to vote.

It seems to me, and maybe just me, that this is our chance as Conservative Republicans, and Conservative Independents, to send a message to the RNC. And that message should be loud, clear, and strong. I wrote on that recent RNC opinion form that the RNC would not get a dime of my money until they started supporting Conservative Republicans. The RNC is going to come down strong on third party candidates, like Mr. Hoffman. We are going to hear all about how Ross Perot opened the door for Bill Clinton. The RNC is going to try to scare us back into our holes and back onto our couches, they are going to demand unification within the ranks…but they are not going to move one step to the right on anything because they only comprehend status quo, not victory.

This is our chance to let them know that they have to move to the right if they expect our support.

Mr. Hoffman, you have earned my financial support.

When it comes to the situation in New Jersey, there is more at stake in a much larger game that has long reaching consequences. There, you want the current governor out…and on that battle front, it is best to be unified.

Anna, so you listened that to that dribble from Newt who has now proven that he has become intoxicated with more of the RNC RINO cool-aid than we ever thought could be possible by such an early mainstream conservative. Those 1993 republicans were nowhere near as left leaning as the RINO that they now support. Yes, Guillani was a moderate in many ways but he leaned more to the right after election… especially on law and order and fiscal issues. Check out his 911 leadership performance as well. Finally, if Hoffman did not show up I would hope that his rival has the same record because the more responsible she is regarding attendance the more likely she will do damage.

      Newt convinced me. Support Hoffman!

MARK LEVIN has this exactly CORRECT!! A PINK SOCIALIST!! The OBAMA TOE-SUCKING KIND!! Where did they dig her up at?

  3. Charles Molloy says:

I cannot believe a republican could endorse Card Check. The Secret Ballot is a fundamental right of all Americans. No American including Obama and Scozzafava should endorse such an issue.

  4. Did McCain’s loss mean nothing to these people? NO, because it isn’t even about getting an R in a seat. It is about getting their “boy” or in this case “girl” in, one who will take orders from the party.

We might as well be in STalingrad.

Shameless whores, the lot of ‘em.

I hear Dede is getting a bit shaken, gallons of Hagen Das have mysteriously disappeared from her local stores. Ms. Scuzzame could not be reached for comment.

  5. ff4b says:

She was cross-endorsed by the WFP? Working Families Party is ACORN! I pledge NEVER to vote for anyone who accepts the cross endorsement from this criminal front group!

Glad she is out of the running! Good riddance!
