Mark hit Keith Olbermann last night for saying that citing Mark Levin is like citing a comic book.

Watching Overbite is like having poison ivy on your genitalia

Eeeeeuuuuuu!! LOL!

My guess is Keithy is often caught acting in public like he has poison ivy on his.

  2. Jim says:

I love Mark BUT his ego is getting in the way.
He should not have slammed Glenn Beck on last night’s show for Beck’s enterprise reporting on the Czars in the White House.
As a former newsman in Boston and London, England, I say kudos to Glenn.
    AND, kudos to Mark.
He should just cool it on his ego.

  3. MLF says:

Beck is a clownish moron that is stealing material from Mark’s Show. Beck’s fans would have you believe that’s OK, so long as Beck steals conservative material. They say Beck is on the “same team.” I just don’t understand how someone could watch or listen to that fool.

#1- he’s entertaining & informative. i love Levin and Beck.i’m a 9-11 patriot, former apolitical w/ liberal leanings. scales began falling from my eyes during Clinton yrs and i awoke fully on 9-11. #2- hunger for any conservative programming. Beck admits ” I’m a rodeo clown”. self-educated, self-deprecating,sincere and yes is probably not always giving credit where due. Levin is a scholar but can also crack me up. Mark doesn’t name Beck on his show but we know who he’s complaining about. As much as i admire Levin, i don’t think it reflects well on him; i know its probably valid but he’s bigger than that.

  4. MLF says:

KL, how does Beck’s stealing reflect on him?

MLF: not saying Beck’s lack of attribution is a good thing; but you can see what the infighting is doing to the Democrats ( Thank-you, GOD ). let’s hash out our differences when Obama is returned to Chicago. Right now Priority#1 is limiting the damge Obama and his cronies can inflict on our country. for me, anyone who thinks it’s a bad idea to have a Marxist in the Whitehouse (actually because he lied about it, he would have been free to run as one) is on “the same team”. Mark seems to have more of a long view while Beck seems more concerned with the here and now. If the worst case scenario comes true we might not have a long view to worry about. Take another look at Arendt’s Origins of Totalitarianism. the shadow government (his czars) he already has in place, the stuff he has already been able to get away with, the front organizations aligned with him, the media in his pocket, maybe being able to shut down the internet. Thank God, as of this moment we still have a free country and thank God for Glenn Beck. he’s not everyones cup of tea and yes he could do a better job with somethings. have you seen the celebration/retrospective episode he did on Obama’s birthday… genius. this isn’t a perfect analogy, but Beck strikes me as a goofier, more visual, less eloquent, less cerebral version of Mark Steyn. we are living in an incredibly dangerous time and if it makes Mr. Levin happy or he thinks it serves some purpose to harp on Beck’s shortcomings then so be it – he lives in a free country. for now.

KL Smith, with all due respect, your advice should be directed toward Beck, Not Mark.

Mea Culpa. I’ve only been listening to Mark’s show for a few months. On further reflection it occurs to me there probably isn’t that much fan crossover between the two – thus a low risk of alienating many people. However some of us are able to appreciate both Levin’s gravitas and Beck’s shtik. I take it that you don’t care about (as opposed to not getting) the point I and Jim and JudieP were trying to make. To clarify, I was unduly worried about a backlash against Mark. But I guess there are more Levin fans that like his anti-Beck rants than those who are puzzled by them and think they detract from the show and make him sound somewhat obsessed and a little petty. Eff me.

KL, I have been listening to Mark since October of 2004, when he only had a local show on WABC. Even then, hosts such as Michael “Savage” Weiner were stealing his material. Mark is just so good that these “back-benchers”, as Mark calls them, can’t help themselves. Mark isn’t in the radio business because he simply wants to be on the radio. He is deeply passionate about advancing conservatism. He doesn’t wake up each day and wonder what position he should take and what topics he should discuss. It all comes natural to Mark because he thinks deeply about it all the time. His show prep is the news, not other hosts. He reads what is happening then just turns on the microphone and rants! Yes, it annoys him to see these other hosts operate differently. That is part of the passion within him. He fiercely defends himself and his friends. That’s just part of Mark’s nature.

  5. Judie P says:

Mark is a very intelligent person who loves his Country. Glenn loves our Country. Im a fan of Glenn’s since 2000. I thought the entire week Glenn devoted to the radical Czars and their association with Obama was excellent. Why Mark felt it necessay to slam the expose about the Czars is perplexing to me. Mark continually slamming Glenn and calling him a “BackBencher” aggravates me. It’s not Glenn’s style to steal anyone’s material. Mark needs an ego check. Glenn is not a moron. He launched the 912 Project, through which many Patriotic organizations got started-The Tea Party Patriots, Freedom Works and the Tea Party Warriors. All of us Conservatives want what’s best for our country.

  6. MLF says:

Judy P, sorry to say, but Beck has been stealing Mark’s material for years because he’s not smart enough to create his own material. That’s the sad fact. I agree that he’s stealing from the best, so he has good taste. But stealing is stealing. If he stops, I assure you Mark would stop slamming him and calling him a back-bencher. You see, there’s a cause and effect thing going on. Beck steals, Mark slams. Does that make sense to you?

  7. Sgt Tim says:

Judy P: Personally, I thought Beck’s ‘czar week’ sucked as a presentation. BTW, he had the subject matter expert on, Malkin, and stepped all over her. If Beck would stop the dramatics and stick to substance, his shows would be a lot better. People appreciate their work used with attribution. Yet stealing is stealing. Beck acts like he does all the digging and his guests are only confirming what he knows, making Beck’s clown act no act.

  8. task says:

Unfortunately Mark does not have a TV audience and I understand his desires to restrict himself. Beck is a product of theatrics and dramatization. He is the chart man that Ross Perot used to be and that clobbers audiences. When I am home my wife continually distracts me to see what Beck is saying and I tell her I already know that. Whether he steals the material or his researches steal it will not be noticed by anyone unless they are ML listeners that already heard it. Beck can’t help being a success because O’Reilly will never be the conservative that FOX needs (all of TV also) and people are desperate for a conservative beyond radio. Gretta is broadening her audience because she is channelling Limbaugh into her evening show. This helps both her and Limbaugh. Hannity is attempting to do the same with Mark but he understandably will not do it. If Mark were on TV he would be very formidable because the very material in question would be given by the guru himself, the author and the fine constitutional attorney that we are accustomed to. Unfortunately that is not the case so Beck fills the niche and we are probably the only people that comprehend that he is just a rerun of what ML already spoke or wrote about. Everyone who viewed Beck first, and then starts listening to Mark, will not likely find fault with who originally got them involved and who they have fond memories and feelings for. We are hearing from Beck viewers that actually listen to Mark to advance their education. They are then stunned by what they never expected to hear and their first response is to defend who they like. I have often said politics is both an “art and a science” and Beck is the TV artist that has nobody else in his way. If any personality should be worried it is O’Rielly and I suspect that what ML says about Beck is not half as bad as what O’Reilly thinks and does not say.

  9. slickwillyman says:

I find myself watching Greta from time to time just to catch Limbaugh spots. Yes, there is a collective itch in America for a solid Conservative on TV. O’Reilly, with his “I’m an Independent” motto and his “play nice” fawning over Obama fails to scratch the itch. Mark probably could have gotten a program on FOX News but chose not to. The ideal time slot is when O’Reilly is on. There were no prime time slots available. Beck took an early time slot that is difficult for working Americans to get home in time to watch. If Mark chose a less than prime time slot, it would not maximize his effectiveness in reaching the masses with a Conservative message. I would suggest that Mark provide high-level Constitutional and Conservative perspectives for Greta much as Rush Limbaugh does followed up by live phone interviews during the show. That way, Mark gets TV exposure and reaches a new segment of Americans without the hassle of having to produce his own show.
