Most everyone has heard of the recent attempts by this administration to have Americans turn against Americans by snitching regarding “fishy” emails or other information. Nothing can be done if Obama supporters want to send “fishy” information to the White House, for it is not in the control of the WH what is sent to them. However, I think they crossed a HUGE line by recruiting people to send such information.

First off, what is the definition of “fishy”? To me a majority of what this Admin is doing is fishy, but I am not about to start emailing the RNC the names, emails, and IPs of my liberal friends. I think that is a disgusting tactic and is reminiscent of the Soviet way, not the American way.

Second, Linda Douglass who used to be a reporter for ABC now works for the Obama Administration in the White House Office of Health Reform, where she heads communications. This morning on CNN’s State of the Union she actually admitted/predicted/disclosed that this White House was going to violate Federal Law. I am just being partisan right?

The Presidential Records Act requires that records be saved for the National Archives. Last week the WH Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, made the same mistake as Douglass did this morning. He said, "Nobody is collecting names, nobody is collecting information." I did not see this Press Briefing but apparently the same comment that Gibbs made caused the Weekly Standard’s ears to perk up, just like Douglass’s did mine this morning.

"Asked later by THE WEEKLY STANDARD if the White House is required by law to save all correspondence it receives, Gibbs acknowledged, "Obviously, the National Archives documents correspondence with the White House." Gibbs also said he didn't know how many emails the White House has yet received yet."
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Gibbs-double-speak-on-White-House-e-mail-52682477.html

So back to this Sunday morning, Linda Douglass (on behalf of the White House): “We don’t have a list, we’re not keeping any of the sources of information.” So when pushed further, and Senator Cornyn’s letter (http://cornyn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ForPress.NewsReleases&ContentRecord_id=ebc2c77d-802a-23ad-4ae4-6ccf4c7a255c&Region_id=&Issue_id=) was brought up she continued. “But we’re not coll… there is no list being compiled, the information is not being retained, the sources are not being tracked.”

If they are discarding records that is illegal! And to top it off… What about that “tracking” aspect?

"A policy change under review by the White House would allow the federal government to begin tracking Internet traffic on its Web sites.

Since 2000, government Web sites have been banned from using cookies, which are identifying codes collected when a computer visits a Web site. When the computer returns, the Web site remembers the previous visits. The ban was enacted as a privacy protection. Since then, using cookies has become more common, and two weeks ago the White House announced plans to overturn the policy."

After hearing Douglass this morning I have decided to send the following email that I encourage everyone to send in:

To the White House and Linda Douglass,

I find your attempts to turn Americans against their own appalling, all in the name of politics. President Obama’s very own words from previous years of his desire for Universal Healthcare and the Administrations sudden push to cover that fact up is in deed “fishy.” As much as you can try to look in to the camera and say that he was taken “out of context” did not sell me, nor will it sell to the American public who is smarter than I think you give them credit for.

In addition I find it “fishy” that Robert Gibbs and you advocated violating Federal Law by the destruction of records. While Gibbs recanted, to a degree… you said as late as Sunday morning regarding your request for the public to submit emails and information, regarding perceived “fishy” information to flag@whitehouse.gov (August 9, 2009) on CNN, “We don’t have a list, we’re not keeping any of the sources of information… there is no list being compiled, the information is not being retained, the sources are not being tracked.”

So I ask are you violating the law, or are you lying to the American public and keeping records while saying you are not?

Per the law I expect my email as submitted to the White House to be preserved in the Obama Administration records (to be preserved in the National Archives) as my judgment that you are in deed involved in some very “fishy” if not illegal behavior.

Regards,

Editor -- Paul: What you posted on Face Book is not showing up here and not everyone has an account there. We invite you to cut and paste what your email said into a comment here.
