NY Times columnist and ‘princess of the sleazes’ Frank Rich (and his nutty friends)

The quote within the title of the post is of Mark Levin speaking tonight of New York Times columnist and “princess of the sleazes” Frank Rich. He pointed out the vitriolic column by Rich yesterday ‘She Broke the G.O.P. and Now She Owns It’ on Sarah Palin. I’ll let Mark tell it, provide you the links, and then show why Mark’s characterization of Rich has been exactly my sentiment of him for the past two years:

The Palinist “real America” is demographically doomed to keep shrinking. But the emotion it represents is disproportionately powerful for its numbers. It’s an anger that Palin enjoyed stoking during her “palling around with terrorists” crusade against Obama on the campaign trail. It’s an anger that’s curdled into self-martyrdom since Inauguration Day. … Its voice can be found in the postings at a Web site maintained by the fans of Mark Levin, the Obama hater who is, at this writing, the No.2 best-selling hardcover nonfiction writer in America. (Glenn Beck is No.1 in paperback nonfiction.) Politico surveyed them last week. “Bottomline, do you know of any way we can remove these idiots before this country goes down the crapper?” wrote one Levin fan. “I WILL HELP!!! Should I buy a gun?” Another called for a new American revolution, promising “there will be blood.”

Politico.com “surveyed” MarkLevinFan.com last week and came up with three kooky comments (out of thousands) in this site’s forum. Yet if you want to see a whole slew of kooks, take a look at Frank Rich’s Nutty Friends.

On August 21, 2005, Rich wrote a column that I came across in October 2007 while documenting the New York Times’ failure to report the tremendous valor of our troops post-9/11, while liberally making use of the names of our honored dead to advance the owner and editors’ political agenda:

While there are literally thousands of untold stories, the Times has named (or alluded to) one fallen soldier many times without ever mentioning his support for the war in Iraq and sacrifice in the service of others. An advanced search of their archives using the keywords ‘Cindy+Sheehan’ reveals 155 entries. Read them and you will discover that her son “died in Iraq,” “was killed in Iraq,” or “was killed in an ambush in Iraq.” What you will not read there about Specialist Casey Sheehan is he volunteered to rescue fellow soldiers who were pinned down by enemy fire, replied, “Where my Chief goes, I go,” when told he did not have to volunteer, and was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star for his valor. Once, the Times’ Frank Rich almost mentioned all that in his column entitled The Swift Boating of Cindy Sheehan, published on August 21, 2005:

The public knows that what matters this time is Casey Sheehan’s story, not the mother who symbolizes it. Cindy Sheehan’s bashers, you’ll notice, almost never tell her son’s story. They are afraid to go there because this young man’s life and death encapsulate not just the noble intentions of those who went to fight this war but also the hubris, incompetence and recklessness of those who gave the marching orders.

Specialist Sheehan was both literally and figuratively an Eagle Scout: a church group leader and honor student whose desire to serve his country drove him to enlist before 9/11, in 2000. [all emphasis added mine] He died with six other soldiers on a rescue mission in Sadr City on April 4, 2004, at the age of 24, the week after four American security workers had been mutilated in Falluja and two weeks after he arrived in Iraq. This was almost a year after the president had declared the end of “major combat operations” from the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.

When Mr. Rich almost told “her son’s story,” he clearly missed another opportunity to say Casey Sheehan reenlisted long after 9/11 knowing that he would deploy to Iraq.

Like leftist columnists the world over, Frank Rich leaves behind him a long and slimy trail of deception for his drone fans to follow.

Why pick on that or this website? Enviro websites and left leaning websites revel in violence against conservatives. They have perfected hate speech. If this economy really goes in the toilet because income redistribution takes precedence over job creation, it will not be productive Americans that will be violence prone; it will be those who put faith and trust into this Marxist mentality that is the very antithesis of commerce, industry, small business success, job creation and solid sustainable employment.

Let’s face it. Most Americans are entrepreneurial because they are the offspring of immigrants who came here for economic freedom (the basis of all freedoms). As such many can create things and provide services beyond their own industries. I for one, and many others, could build a house from scratch, have rebuilt engines, maintained livestock and gardens and pretty much could survive anywhere. And that goes for a lot of people that I personally know. It is the people like Frank Rich and his NY Slimes brethren, the dysfunctional elite types that hide behind the masses of government dependents that they helped create that would be the first to become apoplectic in a real depression.

The fact of the matter is that conservatives are self-motivated, industrious and self-reliant. And we are also generous but we are not fools to follow and support government compassion solutions that create the big entitlement and welfare industries to substitute for our liberty and freedom. This government was designed from scratch, not to govern or to govern as least as possible to prevent itself, other governments, criminals and others from confiscating our freedoms. And by that I do not mean civil liberties over life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The left in this country are by far and large academic elites or the drones that they maintain on government handouts. Should they all cease to exist tomorrow I guarantee that most Americans would be so emancipated from the bureaucratic blood letting that this country would prosper and advance at such an accelerated pace it would become the envy of the entire world. If the opposite were to occur the elite and drones would be so hapless and helpless, because they can neither create useful products nor provide needed services, that anarchy would soon follow. Tell me then who are likely to become violence prone?

Palin is the opposite of the incapable person that the media loves to portray her as. You do not have five children, a modest income, hunt, fish, self maintain property in order to survive and then within a few years kick out the good old boy network, who are well entrenched and supported by heavy money lobbyists, to become governor of a State unless you have many talents. She did this without powerful friends and relatives. Her message of fiscal conservancy, smaller government and a strong national defense plays to America’s soul and it is the very thing people such a Frank Rich, the academics and their elitist cohorts fear most as they run out of excuses for why America, her institutions, her values, her morals, her greatness and her ability to create wealth are in disrepair. The possibility of Sarah Palin (a non-elite) undermining all that was done to destroy America is too much for them to bare considering just how unbelievably far that they have gotten since the election of Barack Obama and his far left congressional majority.

What Rich and others like him do not understand is that if America should fail the bell does not toll for conservatives… it tolls for them.

One fair minded commenter (on the NYT website) accurately summed Frank Rich up. “Frankly you are not fit to carry Tim Russert’s briefcase.” Amen to that.

What Frank Rich did – with this article – was akin to throwing red meat to starving dogs. Some may comment on the meat, but I comment on the snapping jaws of the hungry canines. Has anyone ever witnessed a dog when it is solely focused on food…nothing else can get through to the brain. Dogs have singular focus. What the leftist media has done is train up their minions to be singularly focused on the object du jour. At times this has been Bush, Cheney, Rush, or Palin. You mention any one of these people to a lib, and you get a predictable regurgitation of half digested lies and mischaracterizations. The only thing more predictable than the minions response is the slant of any article printed in the NYT.

I read through the comments on Rich’s column in the NYT, and not surprisingly, most of the readers agreed with the author. However, they spewed more hatred for the right than I thought possible. What is it with the left? Why is everyone who possesses a different viewpoint uneducated? Libs in NYC…and in other urban areas…have this warped view of our country, its people, and the values of those people. Does living in a roach and vermin infested, bad air quality, over-priced neighborhood somehow make you smarter than someone who holds a similar job in a clean small town with fresh air? The NYT readers are comfortably wrapped in their robes of self-importance, and such people – sadly – can not be changed without removing the robe.

Perhaps, then, we need to disrobe and bare ourselves…and I know this is something the left likes to do…from and the sexual revolution to the constant world apology tours! If you see us (the right) for who we are, maybe you’ll change, right? After all, this is our president’s foreign policy template for dealing with terrorism.

Here’s a news tidbit for those on the left who malign people like me, on the right: I don’t hate you. As a matter of fact – I don’t hate anyone. I like all people, all cultures…I’m educated…and I grew up in the country. I know for a fact that the bums in Washington Square Park use the MTA elevator on west 3rd as a toilet, so you know I’m local. I don’t hate our president, I just don’t agree with him his socialist agenda, or his arm twisting in Congress…which is, truthfully, OUR voice in government. I feel there are many good hearted liberals out there; I just don’t want them spending my tax dollars on every sob story. I believe we need to hear from all sides – left, right, moderate – and I feel it is wrong when any one side dominates the media, as the left does with print, broadcast, and cable. I have said before that the media is so far left in this country that they need prescription eyewear to see that Fox News Channel is in the middle…Fox is not conservative…just ask a Conservative!

Okay, is there anyone on the left daring, brave, or capable of independent thought, that will (or can) engage in honest dialogue? Or, are you ROFL or LMFAO? If so, you just proved that terror can not be fought with dialogue and good deeds. If not, we, the Mark Levin Fans, are waiting for you to engage.

    Regurgitators not welcome.

If Sarah Palin did not know a thing about anything she would still be light years ahead of so many of these people who know so much about everything that is just not true.

What always disturbed me about Sheehan is that, not only does Rich and others not mention the man’s valor and sacrifice but neither does his own mother. These people are more concerned with themselves, not Casey or the Country. Who wants to slash military budgets and expand dependency? Casey Sheehan may have loved his mother but he certainly can’t be proud of her. He believed in principles, that if properly applied almost certainly would have prevented the 911 experience in the first place and may even have prevented the mid-east debacle we now have that requires an American military presence. Liberals helped create this and now we have to repair it; if blood is on anyones hands it is not ours.
