I just sent my congressman (Mike Castle) an email. If he reads it, he will know what I think of this bill.
The real significance with these bureaucracies and agencies, created by government, is that they themselves posses all the features of a government within a government and yet they are populated with the appointed who are unelected. They raise capital via licensing and fees, they create laws and administer fines and penalties. In effect they often have more power than the government that established them and can do things that could not be done directly by any single government branch. In effect they can be the despots their creators deliberately construct to enable them to bypass traditional constitutional government to achieve incredible and nefarious end results. And these elected morons really think that we don’t see what they are up to.
I’ve been working the phones of representatives and C-SPAN just to make the Democrats think twice about ramming this down people’s throats without debate. If unemployment skyrockets like it has in Spain (see George Will column “Tilting at Green Windmills”) then they will be in real trouble next election. My message is that they don’t have to take a bullet for Obama and they should worry about themselves and their own fortunes if this bill is passed. At this point, the goal is to instill doubt and fear in the Democrat representatives. Kudos to MLF, Frank and others for staying on this.
You just witnessed the inane performance of 219 gangsters that are as crazy as Henry the Eighth. The American public will not let this survive at the ballot box or else, as sure as the sun rises in the east, the ballot box will not survive. Should the Senate also be so onerous the next President should take out the whole EPA by public referendum and executive order. Destroy the whole thing in the interest of national security and public prosperity.
These lazy jerks should never be allowed to off-load their legislative responsibility to a bureaucracy but instead should be forced to vote on each and every issue and law in clear and open view of the public. When you destroy American business, send jobs overseas and destroy and or confiscate private property, because you have been bribed by promises that advance your own interests, your vote in support of this insanity is nothing short of an act of treason.
With Cap and Trade being passed in the House, it’s only a matter of time for McCain to sell us out once again. In anticipation of his deceit, I sent him the following comment on his website:

Let me just anticipate now that when the time comes, you will side with President Obama and actually help him (with that big cheesy smile on your face) to pass the most devastating tax on the middle class in the history of the United States, the “Cap and Trade” bill. At a time when the economy is on the ropes and lost jobs have reached double digits, you will help Obama kill even more jobs! And don’t expect me to believe the non-sense of “creating green jobs”. This garbage was tried in Spain but you probably don’t have the time nor the inclination to study anything before you vote on it! If it costs taxpayers $500,000 to create a windmill or solar panel array management job, how does this help? It’s a false economy. Without government subsidy (my taxes), it would never fly in the private sector.
How could anyone be so gullible as to believe the Climate Change (was Global Warming) farce? One overdue catastrophic eruption of any one of the hundreds of volcanoes on Earth could instantly bring about either a ten degree rise in temperature due to carbon dioxide or a ten degree drop due to particulates blocking sunlight. Human contribution is so miniscule compared to massive natural forces that it is ridiculous to think that we could affect the environment with our “changed” behavior. And of course, any cutback that we do will more than be offset by increases in Indian and Chinese CO2. I know, we must “lead the world” as you say. Right, lead our economy into the toilet to set an example to everyone else in the world!
You consistently side with the Democrats on issues that destroy our economy, our culture, and our security. So how do you keep getting re-elected? Answer: You wave the flag and remind us again for the zillionth time that you were a POW. Yes, that was a horrible experience, but, the damage you’ve done to this country as Senator has more than negated your positive sacrifice in the Vietnam war. If you were a true patriot, you’d be fighting Obama with every breath because he is undermining our security and actively destroying our economic freedom. Wake up Sen McCain, it’s not too late to come to your senses and be Pro-America!

This is nothing more than plain gangsterism defended as eco compassion. They will build jobs with agency bandit enforcers that will advance their careers based upon how many fines and penalties that they accrue.
This is not about custodial stewardship of the earth and environment. It may be for the dimwitted Speaker and some representatives who look at every life form, except for human beings and their unborn progeny, as part of the natural fauna but Obama understands control the way a bird dog sees and smells fowl. It is about power over the citizenry and confiscation of their property for use by a selected few and for redistribution to the voters that support them.
They will create hundreds of thousands of enforcers whose purpose is to fill the federal coffers with fines and penalties. This is how the fascists share in profitable businesses despite you owning the deed, taking the risk and providing the services and products. Someday you will pay to governments what you currently take home after taxes and take home what you currently pay. Additionally they will create carbon offset industries by forcing business and citizens to insulate walls and roofs, buy new heating units and duct work, install new electrical work, buy new cars, tractors, boats, septic systems, hot water heaters and so on and so on ad infinitum. This is the job creation economy they speak about. Fines and penalties confiscated by government, using recently arrived young citizens, well indoctrinated in the importance that government must play in the lives of free people; they confiscate property for government which then forces the citizenry to employ preferential insider businesses to remedy infractions or else receive further penalties.
This bill hasn’t even been read. Imagine voting for a candidate that hasn’t been placed on the ballot but who would eventually be appointed, not elected, by the party, on a yet to be announced clear platform? And they talk about Bush using war powers that are granted by his constitutionally derived executive power; his use of communication interception for international calls to nations sponsoring terrorism are temporary, while cap and trade will only expand and become more and more onerous. Such a charter demolishes property rights and States rights and the constitution that protects them. Forget what it does to civil liberties that liberals continually complain and fear are being violated.
Liberals often vote to prove that they are not racists when in fact their votes prove that they are nothing more than communists and fascists, as well as racists. In this country we are all supposed to be treated fairly and equally. There are only two ways you can constitutionally do that… through the law and by taxes. They failed one way and it is fast becoming apparent that they wish to achieve 100% consistency both ways.
