I know that you think that the Clintons are making a comeback and the 3rd term of Mike Bloomberg drums up all sorts of possibilities but if there is a life form out there with eternal characteristics I am very much more concerned about the moderate to left leaning republicans. Both the Clintons and the republicans just took a beating and for all practical purposes this is the reason that we have what we have but the Clintons are physical entities which have a definite lifespan while moderation, camouflaged as conservatism, is an ideology that has no intent of changing, leaving or understanding what caused republicans to lose and it could be around for awhile. Just look at the comments in the public chat box in the next column, supporting Huckaphony, the recent dinner at George Will’s house and the attempt to persistently pursue and damn Palin, post election.

Obama needs to galvanize his support and, at the very least, create disarray among his critics. He wants some mainstream republican politicians in his corner; McCain was already turned and Lindsey Graham is but his shadow. There are many more like them out there. How many times, in the past, did the media quote Chuck Hagel as a republican who defected instead of as a defective republican?

The Zombies that we face are the moderates who clearly fail to understand why they chronically lose and worse yet is their failure to actually understand conservatism and who they are supposed to be. Everyone should remember the debate when Huckaphony never understood why terrorists couldn’t gain access to American soil. We notice things like that even if the media remains silent on Biden’s failure to understand which Constitutional Article relates to executive authority. The media will support moderates, just as the NY Slimes supported McCain. They will get airtime slots on TV drone shows and they will be accepted in the mainstream as lesser life forms that are recovering republicans similar to recovering alcoholics or drug addicts.

I disagree with Limbaugh’s assessment of why republicans are caving in regards to a recent article indicating that normal cats, associating with cats given extraordinary doses of steroids also became psychotic. Most medical people should know about steroid psychosis but cats, by nature, live with overactive adrenals and as extremely aware animals any strange sights, noises, odors or behavior will quickly make them nervous and fidgety; chronic exposure amplifies the change and contributes to its persistence even after the insult is removed.

We know what makes humans change. People want acceptance. We posses enormous vocabularies, display a vast amount of facial and other gestures which allows us to communicate in innumerable and complex ways because we spend much of our time inter-relating, as social creatures, and we do better when harmony prevails over discord. That is why so many individuals share the same clothing, habits, beliefs and other social characteristics. That is why New Yorkers, Californians and New Englanders chronically vote the same way; otherwise they are ostracized. They want to be liked. When Sally Quinn failed to unseat Barbara Walters as a news’s commentator, she became the de facto D.C. party hostess that was noted for exceptional parties where attendance is required for acceptance into the D.C liberal circle. The wives of republican politicians whisper into the ears of their husbands to go softly on certain bills and to tone down their rhetoric. While Scalia packs his family for summer road trips across the U.S. Kennedy goes to Salzburg to teach and receive accolades for his progressive decisions regarding US constitutional interpretation.

Conservatism cannot succeed while votes are siphoned off for false prophets and since repubics will not voluntarily get out of the way conservatives have to take them out. The next election is about Palin, Romney, Jindal, Huckaphoney and several others yet to be discovered. Palin needs to study hard and become so familiar with history, civics and current affairs that the interviews she experiences can only damage the interviewer and not her. She can do that. Charlie Crist and the Huckaphoney evangelicals will again castigate Romney about changed and inconsistent positions and his religion. And the media will again attempt to choreograph the election and determine the outcome.

The fairness doctrine may have set in by that time and I suspect that the powerful radio personalities may be repositioned as TV media where they may be even more lethal and detrimental to liberal political strategy than ever before. When they realize their true power, coupled with the Internet, they could contribute to organized freedom marches and other peaceful but prominent demonstrations that draw national attention. Sean Hannity is but one example that has already done that.

Conservatives believe in the rule of law and could never vote to confirm a Treasury Secretary that clearly volitionally violated the law and specifically the law related to the job that he presides over. How could a conservative approve of an Attorney General who did what he did to promote a donation from Denise Rich into the Clinton library fund or to pardon terrorist bombers to support the carpetbagger NY senator among Puerto Rican voters? The fact that these personalities learned from their mistakes means that he learned to be more sleuth like and not get caught the next time around.

True conservatives live and practice what they know and believe in. They do not cower and make excuses for their beliefs and join with the other side on issues which are not conservative.

Do I wish for Obama to fail? What does that mean? If it means a weakened defense, vast confiscatory pork spending projects, socialized medicine and a vast complex centralized bureaucracy commandeering my liberty and freedom the answer is an unequivocal yes!

Task, my ever loyal friend, I tend to agree emphatically with most of what you opine. That said, I must say it is my firm belief that Obama’s radical agenda will not take long to reveal itself and that sooner than later even the Ultra-Liberal Media will not be able to extract him from the mess he’s going to make on the Oval Office’s carpet. His ill-fated romance with the Media, Hollywood and Lib sycophants et al will, I believe, be short lived and rapidly give way to a virtual backlash-tsunami of disappointed condemnation which will put cement shoes on his hopes of re-election. His carefully cultured “Messiah” persona has simply overreached any possible redemptive actions he might attempt, and his supposedly high IQ has frankly painted him and his time in office inexorably into a dead end corner.

The CLINTONS on the other hand, are the ipso facto “Ronald Regan(s)” to the Leftists. They have proven their Macbeth-esque ability to survive and thrive even in the jaws of defeat. They will not go silently into the good night and will not cease their quest for power while they have air to breathe. They have insinuated their administration into Obama’s camp so deeply and pervasively, that should he fall, they are at the ready to reassume the Democrat helm with a vengeance. Don’t think for a second this is not their plan. They are smarter than Obama, shrewder, more ruthless and capable of enacting their diabolical schemes than he could ever hope to be. Believe it or not, the masses that now bow in the glow of Barack, will waste no time falling in line behind the “First Black Family” when the time comes.

I love her to pieces, but Palin isn’t going to be the Conservative answer to defeat the champions of the Left. We’d better hope for someone to emerge who is soon, or it’s Katie Bar The Door and then some. We’ve got two, maybe three years to find someone to pull the sword from the stone of hopeless Liberalism, so we’d better start praying now while there’s still time…

  3. slickwillyman says:

As much as I like Palin, I still remember her caving in on Global Warming. Was this just to agree with McCain? I understand she couldn’t dispute McCain during the campaign, but how about now? Our next conservative candidate must take a firm stance on the farce of Global Warming. I have yet to hear ANY republican simply ask
    1. “Is Global Warming really happening?”
    2. “Is there proof?”
    3. “If true, what is its cause?”
    4. “If it is happening, can reducing CO2 reverse the process”?
    5. “If we all stopped driving our cars and breathing tomorrow, how long would it take for Global Warming to begin reversing?” (10 years, 20 years, 150 years?)
    6. “What is the economic cost in terms of jobs vs Global Warming mandates?”
    7. “Is it worth destroying what’s left of the American Economy for the sake of an unproven theory with an unproven course of action?”

These are simple critical thinking points to ask yet, I’ve never heard any politician pose them.

As for Obama, he is carefully choosing focus-group tested words designed to make him appear as a “centrist” while behind the scenes, he is putting us on a course of income re-distribution, global warming action, make-work construction projects that will attract illegals by the millions (no laid off bank executive is going to dig ditches or shovel concrete), and providing amnesty and a path to citizenship for the 30 million illegal aliens already here if they promise to vote Democrat.

Obama is on an enormous ego trip glowing in the lime light CNN and all of the other drive-bys are shining on him. He thinks he is Abraham Lincoln, FDR, and JFK all rolled into the “One”.

He even started playing golf recently so that he could fit into the JFK genre. He is talking up the “depression” instead of putting forth positive, optimistic statements that a REAL President would do because his goal is complete domination brought about through chaotic times.

No citizenry in a democratic country would ever agree to give up their freedoms when life is good. Change, as any aspiring dictator knows, is easier to accomplish during a dire extended crisis. We’ve heard this straight from Rahm Emanuel’s mouth, when he stated that Democrats have a unique opportunity to pass items they could have never passed before due to the bad economic times. So, watch for Obama to talk down the economy straight into a depression because that is where his power will come from. He is not interested in the recovery of the economy. If that were the case, he would call for tax cuts for businesses instead of tax credits for the lower classes. Give away $1 trillion to the lower class. If the economy is still bad, give away more. When the economy still doesn’t get better, blame Bush. After all, the first $700 billion was spent by Bush and approved by moderate Republicans like McCain that have given Obama the cover that he needed to spend even more. When the economy gets worse and middle class Republicans lose their jobs and see their 401K’s down 75%, and their homes decline in value, that is the “CHANGE” Obama was hoping for.

He, and all of his communist colleagues, want to destroy the productive upper middle class. In one generation, he has the ability to move an entire strata of income earners down one level. This is the “social and economic justice” that the Chicago Activists talk about.

To fight this radical plan, we don’t need a wimpy, feel-good, country preacher good ole boy like Huckabee. We need a kick-ass, name calling, tough SOB like Mark Levin to call them out and expose them for what they are. Does anybody know where this person is? A 2012 Huckabee will not cut it! Maybe a new, more conservative Romney could be the one since, I believe, the main issue will be the economy. He knows the most about business and could use Reagan’s line “are you better off than you were four years ago?”

  4. task says:

    Mark,

Thanks for your clothing line. I wore some it today at a CE convention, raised some eyebrows and elicited lots of smiles.

If the Clintons desire to stay pertinent they had better start taking Geritol because their physiological and political clocks are approaching the 11th hour.

Independent of what the Clintons or any leftists have in store for America there can be no republican political winners based upon current mediocrity. The uber left keeps winning because of left leaning and middle ground republicans that, quite frankly, either share their ideas or never articulate a proper alternative. The public is confused because they cannot discern a party difference so they vote on gender, race, style, sound bites, trust, faith, hope and perception. Conservatives automatically become articulate when they understand, believe and trust core principles and can then never be thrown off message. That message relates to what is the normal state of government, as it relates to mankind, which allows all of us to reach maximum potential in the pursuit of happiness. You can never understand when something is abnormal or counterfeit until you first understand that which is normal. That goes for medicine as well as government. American voters have been captivated by moral and political relativity where they conclude that anything they, or a government, does is irrelevant so it doesn’t make a difference as to which party they vote for. This is the legacy of the MaCianites and their ilk. Someone has got to make the case for liberty, freedom, choice, capitalism and freedom from the weight and entanglements of large, self-feeding, oppressive and regulation strewing big government because if we don’t the left and the media will certainly make the case for what a large, compassionate, big government can be for all people. When we were given McCain as a candidate we bit the same apple that Eve had in mind for Adam and we damn near paid the same price. Even if the Clintons and a starship full of their hemorrhoids again become viable what would stop them, or for that matter Caroline Kennedy or Mickey Mouse so long as we let moderates continue to camouflage themselves as Reaganites and core conservatives? Our weapon of choice… no our weapon of necessity is conservatism and that is exactly what repubics will do their best to keep from being nominated to represent the party.

  5. task says:

BTW, I have a hard time giving Obama credit for becoming President on the basis of being the first non-white to do so, because this is what conservatism is also about. We believe that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things and Barack Obama is not the surprise. What is a surprise is that the principles that got him there he will now contribute to undermine for so many others what opportunities that life in a free country should provide. He certainly deserves credit for getting where he got, on the basis of effort, just the way any other man or woman deserves credit for such an outstanding achievement.
