Shoes are offensive to Iraqis

Monday, Mark spoke about the incident where an Iraqi reporter threw his shoes at President Bush during a press conference in Iraq.

It’s very strange what these Iraqi thugs find offensive and what they don’t. Mark revealed that this so-called reporter was sympathetic to Saddam’s Baathist Party. I found Saddam Hussein’s tactics to be far more offensive. Don’t you?

The Personal History of Saddam Hussein

On July 16, 1979, President Bakr resigned, officially due to health problems, but in reality a victim of Hussein’s political in-fighting. Moving quickly to consolidate his power, he called a major Baathist meeting on July 22, 1979. During the meeting, various family members and other Hussein devotees urged that the party be “cleansed”. Hussein then read a list of names and asked that they step outside. Once there, they are taken into custody.

A high-ranking member of the Revolutionary Command, the head of the labor unions, the leading Shiite member of the Command, and twenty (20) others are then systematically and personally killed by Hussein and his top party officials. During the next few days, reports indicate that as many as 450 other military officers, deputy prime ministers, and “non-party faithful” were rounded up and killed. This purge insured Hussein’s consolidation of power in Iraq.

I wonder if that Iraqi journalist realizes the difference between today and six years ago.

Back then, had he done that to Saddam, the least painful thing that would have happened would have been his feet taken off and tossed back at him.

Note that even leftist rag IHT reported the shoe thrower was a propagandist for al Sadr:

“The correspondent for Al Baghdadiya, an independent Iraqi television station, had previously been detained in November 2007 for two weeks by “a particular party” – his brother did not reveal whether American or Iraqi – after videotaping the scene of an improvised explosive device that targeted an American Humvee.”

But most of our media yucked it up, just like they enjoyed “journalist” Tim McGirk regurgitating unchecked the propaganda of two Iraqi insurgents that led to the scurrilous investigation of the 8 Marines stationed in Haditha. It is all so funny when it demeans President Bush or undermines the efforts of our troops.

I guess the shoe thrower would have known what would have happened to him under Saddam, seeing how he was a Baththist at one time himself.

  3. This act by an ignorant muslum is not only an insult to Pres. Bush & America et al who supported & still support Iraqi Freedom but to ALL of the “unsung heroes” who are serving, have served, been wounded, have died & their families & loved ones as well…(I hope this Ba$tard gets run over by a truck; driven by a GI…)

  4. And furthermore, to the ignorant here & abroad, our Troops are & always have been “Liberators NOT Occupiers”;Now they’re called upon to be “Stabilizers” as well…

This journalist is a very stupid and arrogant man. In our country he would be called a liberal democrat. Like so many other fools I suspect he is inclined to support and vote for his own demise and in that respect I would help him in any way that I can.
