   I’m not counting on an afterlife as a sure thing. I have my own convictions in this regard but as a person who has traveled to many areas in the World I can assure you I give thanks, each and every day, for living in America. Two-thirds of humanity live lives of tragic discontent so, as I enjoy this Holiday, I do so with the clear comprehension that there were many who came before me who also enjoyed it as well, but will do so no longer because they felt that their ultimate sacrifices were worth the price, to provide opportunities for the rest of us and for so many others worldwide, that most of us, here today, expect and take for granted.

   If I were to be born again I doubt that I would be so fortunate to be who I already am so I give thanks, not only to the many other Americans whose sacrifices made my life possible in a Country I can say I’m proud to be part of, but also to her designers, our forefathers whose great plan has proven to work better than they could have ever even hoped for and, to that end, I will do my best to keep her as these masterful architects of freedom and liberty wanted her to be. Without their great understanding and plan this Thanksgiving, in this Great County, would never have existed, nor probably would I. There is no other place I would rather be because there is no other place that is like America. We are not lucky to have what we worked and strived to acheive; but we are very, very lucky because others have put into place a system where our efforts do not go unrewarded and that system is what America’s greatness is really about. A long time ago Freedom and liberty found a home that provides all of us with our home today. Such a system is not only something to enjoy; it is something, now proven, to be worth fighting for.
