You expect them to read "Atlas Shrugged"? I hope that they can just read. Obama is where he is because of the sub prime crisis, the biased media and an uneducated population.

Sometimes Republicans are at fault but make no mistake about the fact that the subprime meltdown is a democrat policy failure. Without the CRA, along with Freddie and Fannie, the approval of congressional democrats, their resistance to oversight and the saturation of these massive mortgage moguls with ex-Clinton era partisans it would have been impossible to for this debacle to have occurred. This is totally a housing and mortgage issue and the only deregulation involved was the congressional regulation to deliberately NOT regulate these implied government backed companies. In a real market economy, absent favorable lending and borrowing advantages, with real SEC regulation, they would have been cut to ribbons a very, very long time ago and certainly never have grown to a size that allowed them to own over 50% of the mortgage market. I have seen the efforts of congressional republicans, including McCain, and the Bush Administration to investigate and regulate Fannie and Freddie but there is not one, and I mean not one, congressional democrat that supported regulation of that gathering storm. There are a lot of toxic bad mortgage loans around but the real toxic substance is whatever cool-aid people are drinking to delusion themselves as to the generic root causes of the mortgage meltdown that underpins this present international fiasco. And yes, a lot of it did have its' genesis in Chicago, with ACORN, a long time ago. I know, I was there and I watched it. Now Dodd is heading an investigation? This is pure show. He should be a deposed witness under the watchful eyes of a team of special prosecutors. We are watching history made to glorify tyranny and suppress liberty.

As John Adams once said:"This Republic will survive based upon the education of its' constituents." If anyone thinks that we have an educated population take a look at the jobs that we are forced to fill in the medical, engineering and computer fields. They come from third world countries. Blame the United Federation of Teachers and The National Federation of Teachers and the government run schools that they both work for and support.

There is no Messiah, no Candy man and no free ride. America gives you the opportunity but you have to go out and achieve the best results you can. If you work real hard and save it is almost impossible to fail.

My father was a blue-collar worker and we did without many things that other people take for granted. He worked even when disabled while I worked since I was eight years old and for the first three and a half decades of my life drank coffee to stay awake for the back-to-back jobs I performed. Ayn Rand understood freedom and what free people could do with it. I find it rather amazing that people stay loyal to leaders and government concepts that fail. Take any Asian and East European immigrant or any Black from Jamaica, Barbados, Haiti or Antigua and in less than a generation they own businesses and property and stand heads and shoulders above most Americans in terms of prosperity and accumulated wealth. On the other hand American poverty (and crime) remains entrenched while the population blindly follows democrats and the policies that created their situation. They vote for victimhood.

Barack Obama stands for the collectivist state and that was Ayn Rand's nighmare.

If every Obamanation disciple had been forced to read Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" in high school, I very much doubt we'd be in this scary time we may be embarking into!
