Mark is sick and tired of “Soft Conservatives” like Peggy Noonan who’s trying to make a name for herself by criticizing Republicans.
These soft conservatives and soft Republicans. We’re in a critical election. If you can’t figure out who the good guys are from a political and philosophical standpoint and who the bad guys are at this point. I don’t care if you write for the Wall Street Journal. I don’t care if you’re a general with seventeen stars on your shoulders. I don’t care if you’re a…if you wrote a book or two…I don’t care who you are. You don’t have my respect. This is way too important. Way too damn important for people to be promoting their own careers…their own names. It’s just too important.

Peggy Noonan is a compromiser and like so many republicans she sees things in terms of grey and doesn’t understand that compromise means defeat because the ends cannot be divorced from the means. These stakes are too high for any confusion. You have to ask an advocate of such an untenable position “What distinctive effects do you understand will be the result of what you write and say?†She is supposed to be a conservative but has the same effect on republican and independent voters that Joe Biden has on democrat and independent voters based upon his last gaffe. At least Biden said it spontaneously without thinking and would never have put the same remark in print. So who is less intelligent? I understand what it is like living in NYC among diehard liberals and how it affects your social life and friendships but you can never compromise fundamental principles without the embarrassing excuse that you never understood them in the first place and in that case she would be no different than David Brooks, the phony conservative writer for the NY Slimes.
Socialism was established in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Cuba and China by force but in Nazi Germany, England and the rest of Europe it was established by vote and the differences always become less distinct with the passage of time. It is never a philosophy of the people but of the elites and the so-called intelligentsia and is supported by the ignorant and those that succumb to faith at the expense of what rationale they possessed that could have saved them. These rulers seek power under the banner of compassion and can never admit to their compulsive narcissism and affection for control and dominance; they lust for greatness, as does Barack Obama, without earning it.
Peggy Noonan got her wish with the nomination of moderate John McCain and yet she is a person, among so many other media types, that believe in the compromise of conservative principles as they reach across the isle to join socialist non-compromisers, bur refuse to accept a compromise with conservative elements of their own party, that support Sarah Palin, that is the closet thing to a conservative that this election affords. Moreover Palin is the only one with Executive experience involving a land mass one-fifth of the size of the continental US and has a realistic domestic energy solution within its’ borders.
To Peggy Noonan, Bill O’Reilly and other media types who fantasize that this is just an election between two candidates with opposing views I suggest that they get educated and understand that our Constitution along with the natural generic concept of liberty does not give anyone the right to happiness at the expense of another’s sadness; it only gives them the right to pursue happiness. All these freebies are not manna from heaven but the products and the efforts of humans that are taken by coercive force and that is the definition of slavery. Where is the voluntary consent? Government is supposed to protect us from criminals not replace them.
Keep in mind that that they wish to shut us up with the illegal unfairness doctrine. The First Amendment states “Congress will make no law abridging the freedom of speech or the pressâ€Â. It does not require that those who speak freely provide a platform and microphone for those that seek to undermine and demolish the speaker. Where have these fundamental ideas been lost?
We have the ability to pass technology from one generation to the next yet somehow, that same experience is forfeited when it comes to rational thought. Each generation has to learn anew what so many others have sacrificed and died for. I suspect for liberty and freedom to survive we will each need to live hundreds of years so the lessons of the past are embodied within the living because the way we currently educate our offspring history will be wasted on those that are born today.
This is exactly what we were worried about when they began shoving McCain down our throats. We all knew this was going to happen. And we knew we’d more than likely wind up with BO in the White House as a result. I hope this serves as an example to Republicans that will show them that in no way shape or form should this party succumb to “moderatism” in order to “win” an election. Shoving McCain down our throats has gotten us NOTHING. We gained NOTHING for his bipartisan BS. And that’s what you get when you compromise in hopes of gaining something. NOTHING.
I sincerely don’t believe this kind of madness would’ve been any different if we HAD gotten more of a “movement conservative” as a candidate at the top of the ticket.

Look at who miscreants like Noonan are bashing: SARAH PALIN.
I started smelling a really foul odor with Noonan more than four years ago. She was saying some really strange things about the Iraq war effort……and no, it wasn’t anything that could simply be written off as criticism over strategy or tactics. It was something deeper……almost an utter “contempt” for the mere idea of America protecting it’s interests by militarily eliminating evil.
Well, since then, it’s been an almost non-stop barrage by her about the “arrogance” (to paraphrase) of our executive branch to dare tell these tin hat dictators that, yes, there WILL be consequences if you continue to pose a viable threat.
Yes, Peggy, yes…….how “obnoxious”. How “arrogant”. How “primitive”. How “STUPID”.
And now??……forget McCain. She attacks the TRUE CONSERVATIVE. Calls her an “embarrassment”. A “vulgarization of politics”. A contemptible “populist” (God, can you IMAGINE??….representing Joe Six-Pack?? How terribly “un-aristocratic” of her!).

Lurked for awhile but new here, so greetings.
I am somewhat concerned the conservative movement is inculcated with so-called “soft conservatives”. These people seem to be fair-weather friends who use conservatism more as an electoral strategy than an actual philosophy. That, in turn, causes them to question their entire grounding once the electorate becomes disillusioned.
If these folks would cogitate for one moment, they would realize it is a departure from true, balanced conservatism that has led them astray. Instead, they revert to acceptance of the contrary and depart from basic, tested principals. It is that departure, that weakness, that dearth of leadership people find unattractive. It unprincipled abandonment and hypocrisy at its absolute worst. It is also why the conservative movement is viewed with vexation.
The time has truly come to restore the conservative movement with people who are ready to teach, lead and restore our Republic.

Here we are a mere week and a half before an election where we hope to defeat a man whose two fathers were communist Muslims, whose childhood teachers and heroes were communists, whose mother disliked America, whose wife dislikes America, who himself is a socialist, who has contempt for the second Amendment, whose spiritual advisor and friend for 20 years engages in frequent anti-Semitism, anti-white, and anti-American rhetoric, whose chief acquaintances wished to overthrow America and destroy Israel, who himself helped Acorn with Fannie and Freddie in creating this financial debacle and if elected plans to increase taxes on wealthy people and businesses and pit them against fifty percent of the population that he plans to remove from IRS liabilities and actually gives them tax credits they never earned. And of course the middle class will not pay anything other than increased capital gains taxes, inheritance taxes, indirect taxes and increased costs of goods and services. With half the population supporting the other half, sounds like a plan that Satan would conjure up to enhance world disharmony. Satan has come a long way since he fooled Eve in the Garden of Eden, but this is even better. I guess I really don’t have to come up with a better reason to vote for McCain, who I know is far from perfect, than any of the above, let alone all of it.
Of course there is also a war, which we essentially won, but Obama could easily give fresh hope to the enemy while he attacks Pakistan and loses in Iraq. Then there is illegal immigration and even more free health coverage and huge new entitlement spending proposals. And we thought we saw increased spending approved by democrats under Bush. Can you imagine spending with a filibuster proof Senate? Remember that the proud Iraqis, want a hundred and twenty thousand liberators, called occupiers, removed from their country but when we want twelve million illegal aliens removed, that are responsible for almost nine thousand deaths annually, we are racists.
What part of America is paying attention and why is everyone else out of their minds? Yesterday I spent a good deal of time explaining all of the above to my accountant who agreed with stunning complacency and without any argument but then admitted he would still vote for Obama on the faith and hope that none of what he now understands would present a problem. I don’t know what type of mental illness that this is but I recognize that it is incurable and a lot worse than Mad Cow Disease. Wake me up when its’ over.
Your accountant is not alone. Experienced Republicans such as Rudy Giuliani were very wrong to simply dismiss Obama as a community organizer.
This role has served Obama very well. Through the experience of community organization, Obama has become very experienced with socialist thought and clearly understands how to manipulate many people and the media to gain their favor.
Power over people is what is important to Obama and now he is on the verge of a stealth radical takeover of the US Presidency and with a New Democratic Party majority, the US Government, that would make Karl Marx proud.
America needs to wake up to this. It is still not too late to bring this to the attention of your friends, colleagues and acquaintances!
