By the way, may I be so bold as to say to my Liberal Jewish brothers and sisters, many of whom are Democrats, if not most. “What” the hell’s wrong with you people? Haven’t you figured out where all the anti-Semites are? With Jimmy Carter and Jesse Jackson and all the radical Palestinian types. They’re not Republicans, you know. I just thought I’d mention that.

Amen. I’ve been wondering what the heck is wrong with those of the Jewish persuasion who keep voting liberal even though liberals want to leave Israel completely out on a limb.
It’s mind boggling. But then it’s also mind boggling for African Americans to continue to vote for Obama solely based on his race when he is doing nothing to futher the cause of equality and racial harmony in this country. If anything, he’s sowing the seeds of racial discord with both hands.
I have often thought about why the secular Jewish community votes against their own interests. There are several reasons but the most significant is that they don’t believe that they are voting against themselves despite the evidence of so much history where they have often contributed to their own demise. Why? I believe that because despots, monarchies and religious oligarchies of Europe often persecuted groups and minorities the concepts of socialism and communism fostered visions of equality where civil liberties would be guaranteed and universal for all. They feel that egalitarian socialism will prevent them from being noticed and treated differently while anything related to the American historical establishment is religious and will eventually become anti-Semitic. All congressional Jews are democrats, Saul Alinsky, Marx and Engel were Jewish. History proves that their hopes and aspirations are not only profoundly wrong but that these ideas have contributed to some of the greatest misery, inequality and genocide that the World has ever witnessed.
The process of achieving equality has often been preceded by a purge of immense inequality. The communist Bolsheviks responsible for the Russian revolution were essentially all Jewish along with a few Russian thugs. Chief among these early acolytes was Genrikh Yagoda. His Jewish deputies established and managed the Gulag system. Solzhenitsyn writes of this famous Jewish commissar who became the head of the Soviet secret police and was directly responsible for sending out black vans for mass arrests and liquidations. They demolished Russian businessmen, teachers, professionals and many other successful and educated Russians. Jewish Bolsheviks decimated a quarter of the population of the city of St. Petersburg. Lenin, Stalin, and their successors could not have carried out their deeds without wide-scale cooperation of interrogators, rat snitches, guards, judges and executioners. Sounds like what would happen with a filibuster proof Congress under the unwatchful eye of an executive democrat administration. Western progressive liberals were either deceived by this activity or looked the other way. Yagoda was considered the greatest Jewish murderer of the 20th Century. He diligently implemented Stalin’s collectivization orders and is responsible for the deaths of at least 10 million people, including the mass genocide of the Ukraine farmers and peasants who failed to produce under the centralized master planners. After Stalin executed Yagoda, Jews became the subjects of mass Russian genocide. And that was even worse. All this occurred in the name of equality and compassion. First Jews persecuted Russians and then Russians persecuted Jews and they did so big time. How is it that Jews did this? It is not that they were Jewish, it was that they were collectivists first and Jews second. When Stalin rose to power he killed Jews in masse because they were collectivists first and Russians second. Hitler rose to power and persecuted Jews and many others because they were National Socialist’s first and Germans second. This is the legacy of collectivism and not the legacy of race, nationality or religion. No one is safe if you resist them.
It is interesting that the Nazis party ran by supporting middle-class citizens, and that the party’s socialist policy was meant to give welfare to German citizens (poor, disabled, homeless and unemployed). Interestingly the Nazis party might not have come to power had it not been for the Great Depression whereby Hitler blamed Jewish financers and Jewish Bolsheviks. Sound familiar? Who are Zionists, Wall Street tycoons and Neocons? They are labeled as Jewish and we can see how the wind will blow; they are going to be branded, even by Jews themselves, as perpetrators of capitalism and war. No one can hide under the cover of socialism where they stupidly feel that they will be more secure under universal egalitarianism and perceived fairness. That concept is very, very wrong. This is exactly the environment where group rights trump individual liberty; in our system of government the smallest minority is a minority of one… the individual. This is the one Country where Constitutional principles protect all of us. It does not allow the individual or a group to rule the mob but on the contrary it prevents the mob from ruling the individual or group. Ultimately anti-Semitism erupts where group rights take preference to individual liberty. Sooner or later, within socialist movements, when it fails to provide, as it always does, someone recognizes differences among people including Jewish success and Jewish differences. Jews then become the very victims of a political tyranny they voted into power to help protect them.
There is an anti-Semitic sentiment in the black community even while Jews promote and vote for liberal black candidates. You need not listen to Jessie Jackson to figure that out. How obvious it was in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights where the Libavich of the Hassidic population experienced the murder of Yankle Rosenbaum by Lemerick Nelson while Mayor Dinkins stood silent despite the fact that we all knew whom the killer was.
If anyone thinks that the empowerment of a socialist, anti-capitalist government fueled by the anti- Semitic friends and associates of Barack Obama will not result in the rise of anti-Semitism I suggest they look at European history. It exists right now. If I were Jewish I would take a hard look at these candidates, not only for the sake of Israel, but also for the sake of myself. Any Jew who believes that John McCain is their enemy and that Barack Obama and his associates are their friends may very well see a repetition of history that debunks that conclusion in no small way.

I am a Catholic who has worked in Jewish institutions for 17 years. My biggest regret is not being able to understand the Liberal position of most Jews in the face of history.

Task: While I do not dispute the historical accuracy of your statements above, I believe you have overstated a bit. You wrote, “The communist Bolsheviks responsible for the Russian revolution were essentially all Jewish [emphasis added mine] along with a few Russian thugs.” The Russian revolution was not a ‘Jewish revolt’ and was far more complicated than the fact that Russian Jews, the followers of the German Jewish philosopher Karl Marx (the father of communism), figured largely in overthrowing the Czarists. As a means to an end, Lenin (and later Stalin) rose to power by pitting classes and many ethnic groups within what ultimately became the Soviet Union against each other. But then they needed to eliminate the enemies within, those close allies who had themselves grown too powerful and might strike.
Examining Nazi socialism it therefore fitting for while what became the Soviet Union was far more ethnically diverse than the demographics of Germany, Hitler’s rise to power differed little in method. He divided from within then consolidated power by physically eliminating his enemies and stiffling all dissent after only one election that placed his party in power (a good many of his Brown shirt “friends” ended up just as dead as six million Jews did, only sooner).
Your larger point is well taken; both those socialist based internal uprisings ultimately led to ruthless autocratic governments being formed.
Therein lies perhaps the greater political lesson for America. While socialism itself goes against the very foundations of our Republic, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union serve as chilling reminders of what happens when peoples within nations are set upon themselves.
My wife is Jewish and I have had to deal with her family over political issues for a long time. She was always conservative so I never had any problem there. Basically in order to deal with my relatives for over 3 decades I really took a really hard look at communism, socialism and fascism and in the process I leaned a lot that surprised me. Many people will try and remake history so you have to go back to the actual books and articles that were written at the time. Today’s teachings are not representative of yesterday’s history and a quick look at a high school history text regarding American or World History, relative to what you were taught, will cause you to jump up and down.
I have more respect for religious Jews who vote conservatively than I have for secular ones that I battle on at least a weekly basis and thanks to ML as well as others and my own conservative background they quickly lose. Thankfully many in my family have changed the way they vote. I have stressed the importance of Israeli security ad nauseum and am really worried about her future because these left leaning morons are lock step voting against her interests as well as our own. I should not have to do that.
This may seem strange to you but I was born and raised as a catholic who attended catholic school yet I am in the process of becoming Jewish and will be buried with my wife in a Jewish cemetery that I have been maintaining for years. My uncle, who just passed away at 92, did the same thing. I applaud Jewish culture and work ethics, and if I was Jewish would be bragging, however the way many of them vote is so preposterous that I tried to logically understand how anyone could vote, not only against their own interest, but against the most basic concepts of liberty and freedom that is the cornerstone of American ideology.
Regarding the Russian Revolution the historical record points to Germany and its’ Teutonic influence on many Russians. That was the Marx influence and it extends back even before that with both Germans and Jews. Nevertheless after the Russian Revolution almost no commissar wasn’t of Jewish ancestry. In fact Lenin was one quarter Jewish, and Trotsky was Jewish. The Russian Revolution would not have occurred except for Marx and that minority of the Russian Jewish population that were the cornerstone Bolsheviks any more than the mortgage meltdown would have occurred without the CRA, Fannie and Freddie and the approval of congressional democrats. But let’s not forget that there was an indigenous problem with the Czar who was in control of the Central bank, the money and the land and the serfs were exploited. If unions had existed before Karl Marx there would be no communism. Sometimes they do good things. You needed an elitist class that controlled all the wealth for communism to take root. This may surprise you but Karl Marx was not inherently a bad person nor were many of the original Bolsheviks. They were looking for equality and fairness. It was what they degenerated into that became the Greatest Story that needs to be told again and again. The two greatest communist experiments failed and evolved into today’s fascist Russia and China. Saul Alinsky may have represented some troubled times but his philosophy, based upon historically failed ideologies, is nothing more than a new version of the Communist Manifesto for today’s spoiled student brats, anti-American establishment types, anti-capitalists, anti-Semites, diehard romantic communists and America haters. Today, in the US, in order to achieve collectivist dreams and aspirations you need to make people poorer (at least perceptually) and then dependent on government and that now, amazingly, includes the middle class thanks to leftist propaganda. This was the opposite of the original communist mentality where they actually tried (at least initially) to correct insurmountable class differences. Today it really is about the acquisition and misuse of power from the very start and the current crop of leftists have fine tuned socialist psychology that has its’ real roots in German national socialist propaganda.
I treat secular Jews the way I treat John McCain. I may like him in some respects but on some very fundamental points we disagree and I am not hesitant to talk about them. Today’s Jewish population has nothing to apologize for any more than the Catholics need apologize for the Inquisitions, or Americans need apologize for slavery, or Protestants need apologize for the 100 year war, or the British or Spanish need apologize for brutal colonization and what they did to the Irish and the South American Incas, Aztecs and Myans. Germany today is a lot different than it was in 1940 and the Japanese could not conceive of a culture that was responsible for Pearl Harbor, the blood stained March to Batan or the Rape of Nanking. In fact most Americans come from international rootstock made from these same peoples. We don’t inherit guilt in this country unless you are a mafia member and take things out on the innocent just to get even. However there is a time when you grow up, realize that your vote represents the theft of other people’s freedom and for that, which you do today, I hold you responsible not as a group, but as an individual, even if you are one of many that seem to think the same way. My point was designed to clarify why secular Jews so often vote lock step in the same dumb way that blacks vote against their own interests. They don’t even understand the Islamic and immigration threat and that is one that I’m certain Omaba will make worse. We can certainly disagree on the many variables associated with the causes and responsibility for the Russian Revolution and seven decades of communism that ensued without the help of Condie Rice; it seems everyone disagrees anyway.
