The funniest part is when the Times disses Olbermann’s credentials (“a former sportscaster”) as a journalist:
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
…
In January, Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews, the host of “Hardball,†began co-anchoring primary night coverage, drawing an audience that enjoyed the pair’s “SportsCenterâ€Â-style show. While some critics argued that the assignment was akin to having the Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly anchor on election night  something that has never happened  MSNBC insisted that Mr. Olbermann knew the difference between news and commentary. But in the past two weeks, that line has been blurred. On the final night of the Republican convention, after MSNBC televised the party’s video “tribute to the victims of 9/11,†including graphic footage of the World Trade Center attacks, Mr. Olbermann abruptly took off his journalistic hat.
Exit questions: Will David Gregory have mute buttons for Olbermann and Matthews and will he use them?

David Gregory will not have a mute button for Olbermann, but the vast majority of the American people already does.
They are still employed and Obermann just signed new contract, too bad
I think they were too far in the tank for Obama.
What a blow to their massive egos this must’ve been. It’s delicious! lol
There are some positives to be gained from the ugly behavior exhibited by Olbermann, Matthews, and Russell Brand at the MTV Video Music Awards. In the past, Liberals would at lease try to hide their radical opinions and conform to acceptable behavior in front of the camera. Since the 2006 Democrat gains in the House and Senate, there is a new over-confidence being shown by the Libs. They believe they can win the White House and a 2/3 majority in the Senate. With this over-confidence, they have let their guard down. The result is unfiltered personal attacks of the most repugnant kind!
The good news is that impressionable Independents and Conservative Democrats (is that an oxymoron?) are beginning to open their eyes to the actions and agenda of the Libs. When they see indecent behavior, as in the case of Russell Brand during the MTV awards, targeting President Bush, Sarah Palin (in leud terms) as well as her daughter, while beseeching everyone to vote for Obama, there can be no doubt what the Democrat Party has become. These people, Olbermann, Matthews, Brand, Rev Wright, Pelosi, Reed, and Obama, are the new face of the Democrat party. The Liberal Dems no longer hide their hatred for Christians. They no longer hide their contempt for normal people living respectable ethical, moral lives. They despise conservative family values. They detest self-made people that have succeeded in business. Success in business should be penalized through increased taxation. Class warfare is their favorite tactic. Increase the numbers of the “have-nots” so that they outnumber the “haves”. To attack Sarah Palin in very personal terms, a self-made woman who has balanced the tough world of politics with raising a family crosses the line with most Americans. Hopefully, they will wake up and cast a straight Republican ballot at the National, State, and Local level to “change” the direction of America from anarchy back to morality and decency.
I never even heard of Russell Brand til I was crusing stations and came upon the MTV award show the other night. And the Crazy fool Russell Brand was on there telling Americans to Please vote for Obama among other stupid things. I said to my 19 yr old daughter “Who the hell is that”? We changed the station because I already wasted 1 minute of my life I can’t get back by listening to his stupidity. I also thought ” well since you think America is so awful Why are you here???? Please get out of my Country!” As for Keith Overbite, Bill Maher, and the rest of the Foolish people I don’t waste my time listening to them. They are a waste of space.
