Mark Levin read from Deroy Murdock’s piece in the National Review Online today and commented:
“Obama is the sole sponsor of legislation that would block geological research to locate offshore oil… Obama’s bill would prohibit expanded use of 3-D seismic techniques that locate and measure underwater oil deposits  even though those tools are in wide use where offshore drilling is allowed, such as the western Gulf of Mexico.”
Barack Obama can’t see that the surge in Iraq worked because of our troops, has snubbed going to see soldiers a second time, and his bill would bar looking for our own oil reserves with modern techniques.
Perhaps Obama needs a seeing-eye dog more than a Vice-President.

Ok, John McCain. I get it. Whatever you are, and whatever criticism I had for you, is now almost irrelevant compared to the catastrophe that is Barack Obama. He is like a high-speed giant meteor on a collision course with earth…specifically America. I cannot stand listening to this man any longer without trying to understand the root pathology, that represents his candidacy, and the genesis of how we, as a people, strayed so far from who we are supposed to be and what we are supposed to represent. I know McCain can occasionally appear incoherent but he sometimes gets it very right. Obama consistently gets it real wrong. People are listening to his voice, the mannerisms of his oration and they assume he is intelligent. They are completely wrong. Listen to what he actually says and not how he says it. I don’t care how many times he states that he loves America; he can’t possibly feel that way because all he speaks about is the need to change it. You don’t change what you love. You cherish it, maintain it, and protect it.
Birds build nest and termites build mounds so that they can prosper and survive. Humans are more than inconsequential stardust and so we also need to modify and use our environment in order to live and prosper. In the process we often improve upon nature. Obama is not like John Muir, nor any rational environmentalist, who realizes that nature, can do very bad things. Remember Katrina and Mount St Helens, the Tsunami, and all the other volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, floods and storms that, not only wipe out human life, but destroy all manner of flora and fauna as well? How about disease and why we vaccinate to prevent it? How abut that recent typhoon in Myanmar? That is why we build windbreakers, bermes, breakwaters, canals, seawalls, bridges, tunnels and buildings. They are structures designed to shield and protect us. That is why we vaccinate and treat illness. That is why we cultivate food; nature simply cannot supply us with enough of it. We argue with nature and struggle to prevent her from getting her way, each and every day. Nature often kills more people, with just one event, than man could with nuclear weapons. When man does something that negatively affects his environment he is deemed as bad but when nature does far worse she is considered good no matter how much misery and death she leaves behind. There are at least 99 extinct species for each one that is alive. Most of these extinctions occurred before we arrived on the scene and occurred despite our absence.
If Obama, Pelosi and Reed have their way and we suffered and died on the way to extinction I guess that would be all right as well. A prosperous and technologically advanced people are efficient and, despite their numbers, can often have less of an environmental impact than a sparsely settled population that is technologically and economically poor. Look at Western Africa as opposed to Hong Kong. Look at the death of Mountain, Lowland gorillas and the Bono and the removal of large swaths of rain forest. This occurs where less than two dozen people per square mile struggle to survive technologically, politically and economically.
We need to drill for oil, put in the infrastructure to distribute our abundant natural gas, go nuclear, use our abundant coal in a clean way, repair and build new refineries and stop the politicians and bureaucrats with their regulations, waiting periods, incoherent red tape and inane rhetoric from getting in our way. America is dependent on sanity and action, not environmental urban legion hype. We are sitting on the solution to a strong economy and a fabulous trade balance that will bring jobs to all Americans, and eventually the World and is all we can do is stare at it? For all the hype about a zero sum game that translates into us doing well at the expense of other nations remember that when America sneezes the rest of the World gets pneumonia. For all his anti-American rhetoric, Castro blames his troubles, on the lack of commerce with his archenemy despite the fact that he has relations with entire World community, including Russia. How can this be? Why does he also need us? Obviously he knows, what we all know. A prosperous America makes for a prosperous World yet the dumb dems in Congress appear to be trying to make a case for the very opposite. The World can never be America. There is only one and the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the entire World is based on our success. The reason for that is because we are the new intellectuals, because Conservatism is new, because in all the history of the World the only place that Conservatism has been tried is in America. To that extent the opposite is true. Liberalism is not new, it is very old, and it is not even really liberal and every place it has been tried it fails.
The seismic exploration industry hase been using 3D software for over 20 years; this idiotic Obama political move is similar to the bad math (the computer algorithms they use are stacked in their favor and do not include the correct variables for weather modeling) used to predict global warming. Scientists are under attack –myself included –because we no longer have peer review (another casualty of PC political correctness not personal computer). Yes, the libs are definitely sending us back to the dark ages. We have a tough battleground, but we can no longer remain silent.
This confirms the fact that Obama and the democrats are actively conspiring to sabotage the United States economy! To actually craft a law that makes it ILLEGAL to use 3D mapping techniques to ascertain locations of oil offshore is an act of economic sabotage! Maybe he will also remove all GPS targeting technology from our weapons when he’s elected. This must be what the dems mean when they say “we are willing to entertain the exploration of offshore oil as long as it’s done the “right” way.” The “Right” way is “No Way”! You can know this man by what he does and who he associates with. Clearly, Obama is an American hating Marxist.
The sheer audacity of this man to spell out his sabotage plan out in the open in a bill is amazing. As all dictators do, he is growing bolder as each of his radical plans see the light of day and are not questioned or scrutinized by the mainstream media. McCain spent his military career fighting communists and being tortured and detained by communists. It’s ironic that now he is running for President against a communist. How long will it take him to realize this? It is time for McCain to stop the “I will run a respectful campaign” crap and reveal the sinister plans of Hussein Obama!
You can always tell a man by whom he associates with. Either you influence the people that you associate with or they influence you. Either way Obama and his friends are all collectivists. When you get down to it that is why they dislike America and want to change her. From their perspective America, not being a collectivist economy should become one and they expect to achieve that goal. That is the change that Obama offers.
Yes it is bizarre that McCain spent five and a half years being tortured by communists and now he is trying to run a respectful campaign against the same philosophy with the prospect that, should he lose, the entire Country can look forward to being tortured. What the hell was he doing in that plane that they shot down? He certainly wasn’t dropping rice on the enemy. I suggest that he refocus on his original mission and finish up by dropping the bombs that he was supposed to drop in the first place.
