Our good friend, Don in Lake Ronkonkoma, called to remind Mark that Ronald Reagan praised America, unlike McCain who scolds America.
McCain is not a conservative. That’s why he’s nothing like the great, Ronald Reagan!

Right; I was trying to think what we are to do; Mark and Rush were lamenting, that, too. I think I heard Rush state, “We are screwed;” and Mark spoke of our dilema as the “accident” of history.
It is true that if the Dems had chosen a relatively more conservative candidate, they would win in a landslide; but they didn’t/won’t.
All of this makes George W. Bush appear to be Bill Buckley in comparison. We are screwed.
Just when I start to think it might be safe to vote for this clown, he starts spewing all of this leftist crap. Someone please wake me from this nightmare, I really am having a hard time seeing a difference between him and the two blatant Marxists. The damage done by the next president could be irreversible.
See you all on the beet line.
Why should the dems pick a more conservative candidate when they already have John McCain as their worst case scenario? He is a better third choice for them than he is a first choice for us. We lost this election this past February and the dems are just trying to improve their position by getting the best leftist of the three candidates that are still standing.
Having John McCain as and alternative to the two dem Marxists is like being attacked by two vampires and having a werewolf come to your rescue.
Our long shot hope is that we talk Clinton into running as an independent on the agreement that we will resurrect Romney or Thompson as our alternative candidate. Two dems against Romney and whatever you want to call McCain.
Saxmachine,
You want to be woken up from your nightmare? I still haven’t gotten to sleep thinking about what I heard McCain say. If he includes socialized medicine (the mother of all entitlements) to his plans and Clinton gets tough on the war then how are they different? This is not just an “accident†of history; it is more like the “perfect storm†of history.
The only good part to all of this is that I can now stop thinking about how we got screwed by FDR since I can’t stop thinking about how we are really going to get screwed by McCain.
