That's true, task. And I don't think it will stay unnoticed by our side. If McCain gets elected & attempts to repeat the amnesty-together-with-security fiasco again, his feet should be held to the fire.

The one area of government that consumes liberty and freedom, faster than a fat man consume h'orderves, is entitlement spending which has essentially become the third rail of bad government. I really don't know how how it can be fixed. It is now why people vote. We are spending about 65% of the budget on chronic inescapable obligations. It will soon reach 70% and beyond. The pork is like pocket change compared to these numbers.

McCain also wanted to give SS benefits to illegals and his open border road to Z pass amnesty and citizenship is an entitlement spending nightmare scenario.

Rome never collapsed. It died slowly as it became poor.

For all the problems that many have with McCain as the GOP nominee, this is one of several reasons that I will SPRINT to the precinct to vote for him in November. Congressional seats are a no-brainer to vote on......but if either Obama or Hillary get into the oval office with two house majorities, we will be fiscally s-c-r-e-w-e-d. I do have full confidence that McCain would crack down on overall government spending.

Regarding Obama/Clinton spending. Fascism is socialism for the wealthy and the elite. After they make it they close the door on everyone else’s hope, aspirations and dreams! As hard as they try to work the tax code to their benefit using jealousy and envy most people are primarily concerned with their own prospects of getting wealthy rather than someone else’s wealth and achievements. It is not really so much about what people earn as to what someone has remaining after the taxes have been removed. That is what you really have left to invest, save and spend. We can husband our efforts and earnings better than any government and when we spend it we will do it efficiently. When the government spends we will pay for whatever they do more than twice over. And we will do that for what we never needed or wanted in the first place!

Many socialist ideas can quite nicely be supported and paid for by the private sector efficiently and successfully. And most importantly they can be funded voluntary. Besides, a wealthy and successfully population is always a generous one.

Dead on right Hank!

New Orleans was a first-rate example of a matured liberal welfare model. It was a super sewer. To me it was not the failure of a Federal government's rescue attempt but a classical failure of generational Federal and local welfare. It is a socialist hell based upon an illegitimate compassionate alchemy expected to transform dependence into prosperity when in reality it created more dependence along with misery and desperation. How many examples of pathetic human suffering do we have to experience before we put an end to this outright cruelty? All this in the name of compassion? In the Welfare Utopia mothers and children wait for the postman who substitutes for a husband and father carrying a government subsistence check. It has demolished the traditional family and has substituted a matriarchal hybrid polygamy that is bereft of intrinsic social values and skills necessary to survive in a capitalist culture.

It is interesting to note that Blacks had an illegitimacy rate that was less than Whites in the early 1950's. They were hard working and religious with strong family and social values. What has socialism accomplished? Nothing but poverty, misery, crime and despair wherever it is seeded.

In the 1960’s the Craigheads were a controversial naturalist family that were known for helping wean the national Park grizzly bear population away from a livelihood related to campground dumpsters that they had relied upon for subsistence since the eighteen hundreds. Of a population of over 200 Yellowstone bears over 80 were killed in the first 2 years because they had lost the ability to accommodate and fend for themselves. It was tragic. Thankfully the population survived and today is strong and independent and is totally self-reliant.

An under reported but interesting part of the Katrina cleanup was the vast number of rescued dogs and cats that many humane societies along with contributing veterinarians helped treat and foster. I can unequivocally state, it was the exception and not the rule, that those dogs were infested with heartworm along with a host of other parasites. The animal cruelty and misery associated with the Welfare State is astounding.

Karl Marx stated, “Religion is the opiate of the masses”. What has that got to do with self-reliance and productivity? It is not religion that is the opiate of the masses. It is socialism. It is the antithesis of human endeavor and self-reliance and the author of human and animal, misery, dependence, desperation and degeneracy and it is also the dream, hope and aspiration of today’s modern progressive liberal.

My question - Whose WELFARE is Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama interested in? How can they care about the welfare of each American when what they propose, aka THE WELFARE STATE, takes away individual aspiration, self-motivation, and independence? Instead their SOCIALIST vision of social justice only nurtures DEPENDENCY, MISERY, DESPAIR, SLOTH, and ultimately personal FAILURE and SHAME.

Has anyone born & bred on governmenty welfare made it big in life, and became an American icon? No! Welfare creates LOSERS of society. Would Obama made it where he is in life if he had depended on government welfare? WHy did Obama succeed, at least materially? It was because he had the hunger in his belly to do so. He was self-motivated. He moved mountains. Why did Obama not pratcise what he preaches - depend on welfare when he was starting out?

Levin gave a most poignant exposition on the sham and misery of Liberalism, and Socialism, on Monday's program.

Anyone wants a homegrown example of the failure of socialism - look no further than New Orleans! That city was under the SOCIALIST reins of the Dems for decades. "Katrina" brought out the horror and misery of what "social justice", a society built on the welfare state vision, brought to New Orleans. The Mississippi response to Katrina, shows a stark, chilling contrast, of what the cancer of socialism can embed itself in a society.

Capitalism is the engine of wealth. Not socialism. By emphasising social justice, the Libs, in effect, wrest individual freedom away. Ultimately, through lack of incentives, motivation, mediocrity, a socialist society dies. Keep killing the "golden geese" that lay the golden eggs of wealth, and soon, there will be NO WEALTH to redistribute!

Conservatives need to engage, and confront all Libs on why the Conservative vision is superior to the shackles of the welafer state. Social justice is a sham!

While a government needs money for governmental purposes the 16th Amendment was probably the very worst way of procuring it. These spending proposals illustrates that there is absolutely no check on the limits of government procurement. Where are the stops, the checks and balances? There is nothing to prevent this government from spending anything they wish, in any way they wish and simply raising taxes accordingly. If anything the 16th Amendment should have been capped and the type and character of the spending specified. You cannot have freedom and liberty while confiscating and controlling a population’s produce, property and labor. Why write an Amendment that can potentially undermine so much of the Constitution and its intent? And it has. This is not the sum of good government. It is government doing what our government was designed to protect and prevent. There is no freedom without economic freedom and this bunch of socialist hooligans hates economic freedom because they hate America and its’ founding principles.

The 16th Amendment turned out to be a socialist's dream and a capitalist's nightmare. The Welfare State and entitlement spending along with much pork could not readily exist without it.

"Folks, I hope the Republicans in the minority of Congress are ready, willing and able to battle this madness!"

The problem is there are 29 republicans that are leaving office, we need to vote in November big time, for those that say "I will stay home" better re-think their conscience, we can't have a democrat in the Whitehouse and a democrat congress.

How much pot did Hillbillery smoke before she did her budget. Sounds like some plan out of the john and yoko crowd. The only countries that could support spending like that sell oil to us.
