Wednesday, Mark spoke with a caller that had a question he found offensive.
I thought the caller was obnoxious, too. He was saying Christians are bigoted and would not vote for someone of a different religion! What do you think? Did that question offend you or did the caller have a point?
Well, apparently that call struck a nerve with Mark, as he lead off the 2nd hour ranting about it some more!

People that wont vote for Romney because he is a Mormon are equated in my mind as the same people who hate Christianity and use The Crusades as a reason for their hatred. They have this narrow mindset of the Mormon religion as do others when it comes to Jehovah Witnesses. People cant stand the fact that Jehovahs ring their doorbell and they have to answer it and nothing is given to them other than the word of God. But if it was Publishers Clearing House ringing the bell with a big fat check, well that’s OK.
Sadly, I think the caller had a point, although it is one I don’t like because like Mark, I prefer to think of my country as being open minded about gender, race, and faith.
I think that there are some people who have misconceptions of the Mormon faith, and it will cloud their judgement when they are in the voting both. I don’t believe that it is people from the historical Christian religions, but rather those that strictly adhere to the words of the Bible.
I laud Mark for not taking calls on religion, but he is closing his eyes to one of the reasons why we’ll refer to 02/05/2008 as Super Screwsday for years to come.
The Democrats have brought race and gender into their debates. The MSM, which is liberal, brought Romney’s religion into play. I see that the party of inclusion is now clearly concerned with race, gender and religion. The Republican party has focused on issues. No Conservative thinks this way. The liberals, the pseudo-inclusionists that they are, own the deed to bigotry based upon race, gender and religion. It is either woman’s rights or black rights or religious rights or no-rights. There are no special rights, only human rights, and those are the rights that government was created to protect under the Constitution. A religious persons only test for a Government position is his allegiance to the rule of law and the Constitution of the United States. Romney has a track record that speaks for itself.
I’m afraid we’re witnessing politics at its sleaziest. It’s ironic with the Kennedys endorsing Obamination – they being the most dysfunctional, corrupt – political family. These parasites have been around way too long, but they hang around. Now with McCain, it’s become like the good old boy network – his senator cronies endorsing him – especially the likes of Goober Graham, who I recall was not too happy when his constituents expressed displeasure at his support of the shAmnesty Bill. It was interesting to see the arrogance of these Senators when the general public rose up and spoke out. Very telling and we can still see it with McCain. He’s probably just waiting until he’s got it in the bag and then he’ll show his true colors. What’s he got to lose anyway. I believe supporters for Huckabee would transfer over to Romney in a heartbeat, but the Great One has a point that there’s been some deal making here and Huckabee is just a spoiler now by staying in the race.
