Human Events endorses Fred

Today, Human Events announced that they endorse Fred Thompson for President:

We begin by recalling the profound words of Ronald Reagan at the Conservative Political Action Conference Feb. 15, 1975: “A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromis ed to political expediency or simply to swell its numbers.” We believed that then, and we believe it now. The issue for us — and for the conservative community — boils down to which of the candidates is most representative of the fundamental conservative principles we believe in. The answer is Fred Thompson.

On the issues that matter most to conservatives, Sen. Thompson’s positions benefit from their clarity. He is solidly pro-life. He said that he was in favor overturning Roe v. Wade because it was “bad law and bad medical science.” As the National Right to Life Committee said in its endorsement of him Nov. 13, 2007, “The majority of this country is opposed to the vast majority of abortions, and Fred Thompson has shown in his consistent pro-life voting record in the U.S. Senate that he is part of the pro-life majority.”

Maybe, just maybe, Fred Thompson is gaining momentum. This is a big endorsement for the best conservative in this race.

Feb 1,08 I begin to support Fred Thompson notwithstanding any screw ups

  3. Prayers that Fred will catch a big wave….

He certainly dropped some bunker-buster missiles on Huckabee’s head in last night’s debate. That was incredible.

Huckabee can say “personal attack” all he wants……all Senator Thompson did was engage him on a lot of RELEVANT stuff in his record.

Everyone has things that can be picked at…..but Huckabee, nice guy though he is, has gotten a free pass by a lib media that WANTS him to be nominated.

    Gee, I wonder why.

Anyway, that is how Thompson has to show his strength, and I hope he’s got it in him to continue it. I’ll be very happy to have either him, Romney or Rudy to vote for in a general election. I’ll certainly vote for McCain or Huckabee…….but it’ll be with either some disappointment (McCain) or with great fear & a clothes pin on my nose (Huckabee).

I’m getting sick of the DBM* and some beltway ‘conservative’ media pukes trying to scare us out of supporting Fred because it would supposedly help the Huckster. BS! Screw those pinkos!

    DrWho,

    Unfortunately it will continue.
The media is fearful of Thompson. They see him as another Reagan.
That’s why they’re ignoring him. Fear that the more the public sees him the more we’ll think of the beloved Reagan.

They would much rather prop up McCain and Huckabee.
McCain because he’s too liberal and some will sit home rather than ever vote for him (My fear) which will allow a Dem into office for sure.
Huckabee, they love him to, why? because they want him to be the nominee because they’re probably convinced he can’t win the general
