Kathryn Lopez, the editor of the National Review Online, points out Mark Levin’s answer and commentary to a Symposium question today about the state of the Ronald Reagan coalition:
Is the Reagan coalition dead? All the elements still exist. And as much as I admire President Bush, neither he nor his father have consistently articulated the principled, conservative case. Bush-41 won election largely because many were voting for Reagan’s third term and his opponent was pathetic. Bush-43 won his second term largely because of his national security leadership and, again, his opponent was pathetic. I am thankful they both won. However, the fact is that the conservative movement and the Republican party are suffering from two decades of neglect. Reagan supporters are often criticized, including here, for practicing a kind of cult of personality. Yet, it was Reagan’s ideas and principles  which were not unique to him but which he confidently articulated and courageously asserted  that endeared him to most of us. No, the Reagan coalition isn’t dead. It’s there for the leading.

Yes it’s True Reaganomics can work in this 21st century DO NOT waiver insist on our constitunional rights VOTE for a true conservative.
Conservatism is not just about Ronald Reagan. Yes he was a Conservative in the tradition of the philosophy. And it is a philosophy. But it is even more than that. It is a way of existence; a way of living necessary for our particular species to achieve life, health and prosperity. It is much bigger than the democratic will of the people because the will of the people can be anything but conservative and can often be self-destructive. It is not about the little guy vs. wealth or special interests or any interest. It is about unalienable individual, self-evident rights that are God or Nature given that do not belong to any government or ruler for dispensation to some at the expense of others. These rights belong to the little guy as well as the wealthy; they belong to the big guy as well as the poor. Conservatism forbids, and prevents when practiced, the intrusion of government into these areas. In fact the very core purpose of government is to protect these rights and freedoms from government and criminal abrogation and to leave the individual to use his/her own will and ingenuity to pursue what is in his/her best interest to survive. Not the interests of the moment or even his/her own lifetime but for the continuation of our kind… our species.
Chief among these rights is the right to economic freedom so that your productive work is not confiscated and can be used for your benefit. If you lose your liberty and freedom or speech then you lose the ability to achieve a productive life; your means of survival is compromised. Conservative Government governs least. This is as brief as it gets. It is much more but this but this is the corner brick upon which the rest of the foundation and structure rests.
Oneshot, who do you consider a true conservative in this race?
