Pelosi remembrance of Armenian ‘genocide’ furthers slaughter in Iraq

Mark reiterated his objections to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s intent to have the House, “vote on a resolution that labels the deaths of more than a million Armenians during World War I as genocide.” While we should not forget the slaughter of Armenians, the resolution being brought now is not about remembering them; it is another lib ploy to undermine our efforts in Iraq:

I’ll add two notes to what Mark said about this. First, Ralph Peters explained the impact of the resolution and what is behind it, yesterday, in the New York Post:

Legislation similar to this has come up repeatedly in Congress, yet it’s always been defeated “in 2000, because of pressure from the Clinton administration. But if the resolution passes the House and Senate now, the Turks plan to evict us from Incirlik airbase in southeastern Turkey, to halt our military over-flight privileges and to shut down the supply routes into northern Iraq.

That’s what the Democrats are aiming at. This resolution isn’t about justice for the Armenians. Not this time. It’s a stunningly devious attempt to impede our war effort in Iraq and force premature troop withdrawals. The Dems calculate that, without those flights and convoys, we won’t be able to keep our troops adequately supplied. Key intelligence and strike missions would disappear.

The Pentagon might be able to improvise other options. But the loss of the base and those routes would definitely hurt our troops. Severely. And we’d be more reliant than ever on a single, vulnerable lifeline running from Kuwait.

It’s a brilliant ploy “the Dems get to stab our troops in the back, but lay the blame off on the Turks. They pretend they’re responding to their Armenian-American constituents “while actually moving to placate MoveOn.org.

Secondly, in 2000, when Bill Clinton was President, Speaker Hastert pulled a similar resolution and supported a Democrat in the Oval Office because, as Congresswoman Pelosi says now, “it wasn’t the right time because of overflights of Iraq.” Yet Democrat Pelosi apparently says today’s atrocities be damned “there is an election here next year and a Republican currently occupies the White House. Evidently, she will bring to a vote a resolution that undermines our troops’ efforts, sabotages our diplomatic relationship with Turkey for this and future Presidents (regardless of their political party), and promotes a slaughter in Iraq.

This again is another dispicable tact by the Democrats to undermine our troops. I truly hope that the American people will remember what the Democrats have done on a daily basis to undermine our troops, to destroy our military and our country. I pray that the American people will remember what the Democrats stand for, dispicable Stallinists, and overwhelmingly vote the Democrats out of power in 2008.

Funds for spinach farms. Attack Rush Limbaugh. Bring up resolutions for genocide that happened a hundred years ago. Ignore the genocide that is happening in Darfur and bring genocide to Iraq. What a great Congress we have today.

I would like to say that the DemonRats have sunk to a “new low”, but that would not be true. They have done a lot of worse things only recently. I’m glad to see that Harry Reid’s approval numbers are tanking- but in a way, I wonder if his plummeting approval numbers don’t actually make him MORE dangerous!! If he sees that his political career is effectively over by the end of this term no matter what he does, what motivation is there for him to do ANYTHING good for the nation in the meantime? He has already committed treason, land fraud, and slander- and if he has nothing to lose politically, what is there to stop him from doing even more egregious damage to America?

Some say watch the money trail. I say watch the vote trail. Votes equal power. They are trying to garner Christian Armenian votes that have traditionally voted conservatively. To the left American casualties is an acceptable price to pay to purchase Democrat votes.
