About three years ago, my family took a trip to Washington DC with my wife’s parents. My wife’s father is a lawyer and is friends with a Representative from Ohio. We had a opportunity to get a guided tour of the Capitol with one of the Rep’s senior aides. We then had lunch in the Congressional cafeteria with the Congressman. One table over sat Henry Waxman, live and in the disgusting flesh. Both my kids commented that he looked so much like a weasel. And he does. He looks like a stinkin’ weasel…a stinkin’ socialist weasel…
Isn’t this type of investigation illegal? Isn’t it against the Constitution for Congress (i.e., a member of Congress) to put the full weight of the federal government on an individual for speaking his or her mind? Did I read incorrectly? Are my thoughts and words or perceived thoughts and words to be managed by this man and his ilk? Did we not already have this experience in our country?
PS The fairness doctrine is slipping into every appropriations bill and regulation–look at recent “fairness” terminology for the Small Business Administration. And listen to the speech of Congress people–always about fairness, offensive, and feelings–our laws and the rule of law are not based on hurt feelings but about real harm and danger. Alas if Waxman is not stopped and we continue down the lovely feelings path, we are in real trouble.

Every time I see his ugly face all I can think of is that he looks like a PIG so I hope he follows up on what he is trying to do to all you great talk radio guys so you can sue his ugly ass off. We need to send all those ugly liberals Pigs including Hillary, and Schmucky Schumer back to the barn yard to waddle in the mud where they belong. I am totally against abortion… but I think I could have sympathized with Waxman’s mother if she had known early on what an internally and externally ugly ratfink abomination her spawn would turn out to be. As for Waxman and all the Democrats (Stallinists), fight them with all necessary legal might, stand up to them shoulder to shoulder. Do whatever is deemed necessary to defeat these radicals and forever kill the “Fairness Doctrine”. I dare they attempt to stifle free speech, to trample on our first amendment rights.

A friend of mine called me earlier this evening, really sick at heart at this Waxman story, and worried to death about the threat this leftist poses to our beloved talk radio favorites.
I’m just going to send her the link to Mark’s response, in case she missed hearing it live. It’s bound to make her feel a lot better. I know I loved hearing Mark’s fighting words, and he’s got to know that he will have all of us, his loyal fans, fighting with him side-by-side and shoulder-to-shoulder to protect our collective right to free speech. We may just have to organize and march on Washington for this one. These loons have no idea how seriously we take this issue.

Mr. Waxman will certainly lose by virtue of the free speech clause of the 1st Amendment no matter how he tries to construe the Fairness Document. That, however, is not enough. What Mark is attempting to do is much more worthwhile. One thing that is for certain is that men such as Waxman love to dispose others but are themselves in dread of being deposed.
Another angle to this is a kind of reverse SLAPP suit. It is bad enough when people use the Courts to deny others free speech on the basis of litigation costs but it is illegal when people use resources of a Government they control for the purpose of limiting free speech against them or their friends. In addition a major conflict of interest exists. Waxman is the beneficiary of the policies he is implementing while using the people’s resources. This is at no expense to himself but it is for the rest of us.
The amount of material that good attorneys can wrangle out of Waxman and his staff will be devastating. Obviously this will die down because they got the message loud and clear. I know that what ML proposed had a devastatingly chilling effect on Waxman’s intentions. In some ways that is too bad because had he not been forewarned and went forward for all intents and purposes he would have consumed a “poison pillâ€ÂÂ.
The man is a despot and a tyrant. This he tries despite the “Bill of Rightsâ€ÂÂ. Imagine what he and his ilk would be like without it? Indeed it was AL Smith, a noteworthy Democrat, who stated in 1936 that the Democrat Party, under the New Deal, had become the Party of Stalin and Lenin. He should only see it today.

Guys, I’m very, VERY worried. We all saw this coming. Conservative talk radio has become a force to be reckoned with and the Dem Libs can’t stomach an educated, informed electorate. As to Sean’s interview with Dr. Dobson. I think even Sean was taken aback at what he was hearing. While Dr. D. is well-intentioned and noble in his stands as are his fellow conservatives, do I understand him correctly that he and his followers will support a third party candidate if one of the top-tiered republican candidates get the nomination? As Sean pointed out, splintering the republican party would, in effect, hand a victory over to the democrat candidate (OMG!) and we all know what that means. Any chance of any conservative ideas being put forth or initiated will be quashed for a very long time. Censorship won’t be the only attack on conservatives. These democrats smell blood and they are so power hungry, they can taste it. They aren’t about to let power slip away again like they did in the ’90s. I believe republicans need to win elections and gain a “working” majority, not just squeak a majority out. Then we can work together to fix problems and issues, but splintering the party is the last thing we need right now. This election has dire consequences. Dr. “Demento” Dobson has made it clear that he will attempt to prop up a third-party candidate if either Fred Thompson, Rudy Giuliani, or John McCain wins the nomination (frankly, I agree with a caller I heard on Rush’s show this morning who said Dobson privately opposes Mitt Romney as well because he’s Mormon, but just isn’t saying it publicly to avoid being exposed as a religious bigot).
This nut actually BELIEVES that Hillary would be better as president, because she isn’t on his “team” and therefore he could publicly criticize her for the benefit of future elections.

But what he fails to see is that a President will never be able to remedy the effects of a Ginsberg whose tenure will logarithmically overwhelm any other pro-life good that a President might eventually accomplish.

There are definitely orchestrated “assaults” being leveled at our conservative commentators. Rush (and maybe Bill O’Reilly in a huge stretch of the imagination)is an example of the left hurling false accusations to trip up our guys – Michelle Malkin is being targeted on her blogs by leftist loons accusing her of all kinds of crap that isn’t true but the msm is picking up on it like it is. Here in D.C. at G. Washington University there were fake flyers printed up targeting muslims and spewing hate posted around their campus – made to look like a conservative student group hosting a seminar on Islamo-Fascism is responsible. And even though it was discovered that a left-leaning student group is responsible for the smear, the conservative group has now come under fire. Very clever and I wouldn’t trust Waxman as far as I could throw him. (And at 5’5″ that might be quite a distance, yuk, yuk – a tip to the Great One). This is getting very serious and scary because we’re not dealing with a faction that is reasonable or honorable in the least.
