A real soldier gets back into the fight

Josh returns to the war Monday. He called Mark last night:

Some might take Josh saying, “I will continue to fight until they’re all dead or I’m dead,” as false bravado. Yet, like hundreds of thousands of veterans on subsequent combat tours and those who will soon return to the War on Terror’s battlefields, he recognizes the reality that the fight is far from over.

Jesse MacBeth is a phony and never earned the right to call himself a soldier; you only earn that right upon completion of Basic Training, which MacBeth did not. Scott Thomas Beauchamp is a sorry excuse for a soldier who falsely claimed to have been to war, witnessed atrocities, and been there in Iraq when soldiers verbally abused a female disfigured by an IED explosion. Congressman Murtha, a former Marine, is finally being called to task for slandering Marines when he said they had, “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.” None of them speaks for the brave men and women still in this fight who remain committed to victory.

Godspeed, Josh. Thank you for your service to our nation.

Josh, one vet to another, saying: we would be with you physically as well as spiritually but for age and/or health. If they lift the restrictions I’ll see you over there. We know you’ll be back when it’s over, over there.
