Mark throttled Senator Ted Kennedy over his thought police, hate crime amendment to the defense authorization bill. When will Kennedy support legislation that combats the real hate crimes we see perpetrated, the ones our enemies commit?
Over at RedState.com they had this to say about the amendment:
The amendment would be yet another victory for Sen. Teddy Kennedy… It includes “gender identity” as a protected class and even “perceived gender-related characteristics.” The original Kennedy language didn’t go that far.

Answer: NEVER.
Let’s see… If this bill passes, a pastor who preaches about homosexuality being a sin could be prosecuted if someone who has heard his message commits a crime against a homosexual. Millions see a couple going at it hot and heavy on TV possibly inciting some people to commit rape but no one sues the network that broadcasts the show. This attachment is a clear attempt to emasculate Free Speech.
An even more egregious attachment to the Dept of Defense Bill is Senate Amendment 2067 (SA 2067) called “ENDA,” (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) that “Grants Special Status Based on Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity…” So your gay person or lesbian is ELEVATED to a special status; they become better than you or me.
ENDA is all-encompassing. This elevated status REQUIRES businesses to give preference to gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals when hiring. It doesn’t stop at businesses… it will also apply to churches, Christian schools, colleges, universities, and religious organizations except where it applies to ministerial positions. Your Christian Day Care Center or parochial school could be required to hire cross-dressers, transvestites and sodomites as teachers and janitors.
Wait! Ther’s more! Landlords beware! Besides failure to hire, anyone who fails to rent a house or apartment to this privileged class is in deep trouble. As a landlord, you may be open to lawsuits and serious fines if you refuse to rent property to the newly elevated group.
And you wonder at the levels this congress has sunk to…it’s worse than anyone can imagine.
