I read all of Mark's points on this, and they are all very good. I believe that the fact there are only 15 months left in Bush's term is the reason Mukasey was nominated over Olsen. Considering the short period of time, I think it's a safe pick, and it will allow the White House to deal with security & terrorism issues without getting bogged down in more mudslinging with Schumer & the left. If he'd had three more years, I'd say screw it........nominate Olsen and START a fight with those bastards. But in the end, this looks like it'll be a non-issue.
