Extreme left and extreme right are equally as scary because it seems like the two ideologies actually reach around and blend together in some sort of weird way. You know someone has reached this stage because they are incapable of rationally discussing opposing points of view and lacks the ability to deconstruct an opponents argument with facts and logic.

Telling Ron Paul that his supporters are weirdos is stooping to their level. I would say don’t do it.
Ron Paul is a true Constitutionalist/libertarian. According to him our government has been and is doing things that go against what the constitution says. He has never waivered from his belief, we may not agree with him, but he does stay with his beliefs he is not intimidated by polls or outside forces. I think our guy Mark would act in the same way, although Mark is a true conservative and more in line with what we think., but both are principled in their belief.
Burlem, the Paul supporters who ARE kooks, will be called kooks. Our problem is not so much with Paul as it is with those kooks who pretend to be Conservative, but actually are left-wing druggies.
I agree with some of Paul’s views, but his desire to legalize drugs/pot; his contention that WE were responsible for 9/11; his wacko blame America views make him a complete undesirable candidate for many.
But his kook supporters are just plain idiots.
Burlem, did you listen to the audio? Mark pretty much said that about Ron Paul. But, it’s his supporters that are way out of line. They SPAM Internet sites and polls. They SPAM talk radio. They go to these televised straw polls and wave their signs in front of the TV cameras. They’ve been trying to spam this site since last Friday. They would be sliming up the place here if I let them! They are completely obnoxious. That is not helping Ron Paul. It is just making Ron Paul look like more of a kook than he really is.
I understand that you were talking about his followers, but calling RonPaul to tell him he has idiots supporting him, is not, in my opinion taking the high road, We don’t want to spam either…
Maybe when one of the pretenders logs on, we should be allowed to tear them apart here, not with vulgarities, but confuse them with facts.
Burlem, I think you should call Mark on Monday to discuss this with him. He may be interested in your views.

I will just go one step further by saying that once somebody jumps into a political fox hole with DENNIS KUCINICH on war issues (which Paul has done) and goes so far as to BLAME AMERICA’S FOREIGN POLICY for 9/11 (which Paul has ALSO done)……then I don’t give a DAMN about any “constitutionalist” or “libertarian” views he proclaims to have. The man is a SCURGE, plain & simple.

I do not agree with Ron Paul or anyone that does not put the country first. I am just saying I do not want to act like his goons.

I am very worried that Hillary will get the Whitehouse, and we will totally lose congress. Some republicans are choosing not to run again when their time is up, I am petrified as to what these people will do.

I understand Ron Paul is a ‘Libertarian’ and as such is definitely NOT a person I would vote for in any election and here’s why. (First, I have to say that I am a Life Member of the Libertarian Party by virtue of the fact that I contributed a grand to their coffers after I thought I had researched them judiciously. However, after I got into their inner workings I discovered many bothersome things that enlightened me to their hypocrisy.) I haven’t seen this anywhere, but I know Libertarians are for completely open borders and are much in favor of allowing anyone to enter this country without any kind of check on them. Libertarians do not want ANY form of government which makes them complete Anarchists and in favor of mob rule. In short, Libertarians are shiny on the outside but are very wormy on the inside and are potentially very dangerous to this country. Luckily, however, their eliticism and club run approach is keeping them down and out of the mainstream.

You’re right, they present their good conservative principles, but conveniently leave out their destructive Anarchist ones. That is typical of a cult, which is what the Ron Paul movement appears to be.
