Sometimes I don’t know what to think about Frontpage magazine. Lots of times they have it nailed, other times I wonder if they’ve succumbed to every conspiracy theory out there. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

  2. Long Island Pete says:

And to think anything else months ago would have been foolish.

  3. MLF says:

Mark believes this. That’s why I posted it.

  4. Steph says:

I trust Mark’s judgment on that so… DAMN!!!!! or is that DAYUM?

  5. Long Island Pete says:

Imus was slamming Hillary then goes on to make that nappy headed comment. So Hillary and her buddy Al not so Sharpton when into attack mode.

  6. Burlem says:

Nothing I read about the Clintons would surprise me, I have to recall the FBI files, documents requested from them that rarely materialized, the folks who disagreed or was outspoken against them were ruined, that is who they are that is what they do.

  7. Smooth says:

Steph, I disagree with you about FrontPageMagazine. FrontPage has been on the cutting edge of research and journalism and publishes articles unhesitatingly about hundreds of significant topics, including the International Solidarity Movement, about Saudi Arabia’s education system, about what the Koran says about non-Muslims, about the Muslim Student Association, Wahhabism, Jew hatred and the Hate America crowd on college campuses. David Horowitz’s latest project is the Terrorism Awareness Project, information on which can be found here: http://www.terrorismawareness.org/. I have been a daily reader of Front Page Magazine since around 2000 and rely on it heavily as a resource for research and study. What’s even keener, is that Front Page Magazine was publishing cutting edge articles like this before 9-11. I have not found anything conspiratorial on its pages other than comments left there by libtards, lefties and islamists.

  8. Steph says:

Smooth, I don’t necessarily agree with what Frontpage says as far as facts but sometimes… just sometimes… I think they get carried away. Often times I wish some of those sites gathering all that information didn’t try to engender such fear. Too much fear can be immobilizing. I just can’t believe that a lot of what they say will happen without a fight… if that makes sense. I have the terrorism link bookmarked plus another one you might be interested in… I find it more interesting than the other in some ways: http://www.discoverthenetworks.org... also a David Horowitz production if I’m not mistaken.

    There’s another site: http://www.saneworks.us

The work there is mind boggling to say the least but also engages in heightening fear.

  9. Smooth says:

Steph, what is your evidence that FrontPage publishes incorrect facts? And in what subject area have they published incorrect facts? In all of my research I have never found anything on Front Page that can not be corroborated on other peer sites including Mark Levin’s own column, Michele Malkin’s, Michael Yon’s, PowerlineBlog, MEMRI, or Jihad Watch. And what’s wrong with being afraid, anyway? It keeps us on our toes, and if we see something, we will say something. Learning facts like those published on Front Page and the other sites I mentioned above help educate us on the enemy and its intentions. Is it such a stretch to err on the side of vigilance against those who would wish us harm?

  10. Steph says:

They don’t publish incorrect facts as far as I know… it’s their interpretation of those facts that I find a bit much.

They use a lot of emphasis words that seem designed to engender great fear. It’s one thing to fear and understand what it is you fear, but it’s another to be immobilized by that fear. I think they go overboard with the fear factor is all.

I guess it’s all a matter of who their target audience is. If they’re preaching to the choir(the conservatives), well, I guess it’s okay… for the most part conservatives are a pragmatic bunch… but if they intend to reach those who aren’t in the choir, well… maybe they need to tone down the fear factor a bit.

  11. Smooth says:

Given the fact that the entire civilized world, Israel especially, is daily threatened by islamic barbarians, how can ANY interpretation or response – including fear – be an over reaction? And again, you have provided no evidence that Front Page thrives on fear posturing.

See, what you’re doing is taking an excellent information source and impugning it without providing evidence, without articulate thought, and without adequate consideration. Front Page’s contributing authors don’t pull any punches or sugar coat the facts. Neither does Mark Levin for that matter, which is why he often quotes authors of articles that are published on Front Page.

If reactive fear is the barometer with which to measure the accuracy of facts on a page, then I think you are on to something important: people who are fearful are also weaponless because they refuse to be afraid – and as a result will appear more weak and vulnerable to the enemy than they really are. Having no weapon makes one collaborate with the enemy. And fear – and denial – will make one not want to defend himself, his family or his country. Being afraid to be afraid is a delusion and entails closing one’s eyes and ears to what islamists do and say. However, it’s clear why people do this: doing this diminishes the islamic threat to manageable proportions, and instead enables others to blame those one doesn’t really fear, like America, President Bush, the Jews, Republicans, or pro-lifers – as the source of the danger. Now THAT is what is really scary because it is that type of libtard thinking that is what is destroying America from within.

  12. DubInDallas says:

Very interesting, Smooth! Whereas once FDR said that “the only thing that we have to fear is fear itself”, today one of our greatest fears (as patriotic Conservative Americans) is the LACK OF FEAR of our true enemies (e.g. Al-Quaeda)that is engendered by the Mainstream Media, a Drive-By media that chooses instead to attack Republicans, Jews, and pro-lifers by painting them as being the TRUE instigators of the strife and wars in the world!! To the Drive-By media, the Jews are to blame for the problems in the Middle East! And Bush is to blame for the wars in Afghanistan and in Iraq! And pro-lifers (the Christian Right) are the true militant religious extremists that must be confronted and denigrated and destroyed!! As Sean Hannity is fond of saying, “Fear is a good motivator”- and I find it easier to face the frightening realities of today’s world if I know that I am not alone. And journals like “The Front Page” provide me with the company that I need to keep up my morale as I struggle to keep up with this dangerous and frightening world!! Engendering fear in the populace is not an evil when there is an authentically fearsome force of evil that is openly bent upon our destruction and demise!! Winston Churchill was not a popular figure when he warned Britain of “the gathering storm” that he saw in Germany’s resurgence under Hitler. But when it was too late to stop Hitler’s war machine before it had become full-grown(be- cause France had lacked the will to confront Hitler when he marched on the Rhineland) THEN Britain’s Parliament voted Churchill ( at the age of 65!) to be their Prime Minister!!
These days, events move too quickly to wait until the pesky prophesiers of war are proven correct!! If and when Ahmadinejad gets The Bomb, he will (without hesitation) attack Israel and drive the Jews into the sea!! And he will do it with a joyous abandon that will make Hitler’s “secret” death-camps look tepid and timid!! Hitler wanted to cover up the evidence of his extermination camps at the end of WWII- he ordered the mass-graves at the concentration camps to be dug up, ordered the skeletons of his victims to be ground up into bone-meal, ordered the bone-meal to be plowed into the earth , and ordered weeds to be planted over the earth. Hitler wanted to cover up the evidence of his crimes- but Ahmadinejad wants HIS future extermination of the Jews to get world-wide coverage!! HE will be PROUD of his actions!! He has said so himself!! As you said, Smooth, HOW can the fear that is being engendered by Front Page be an OVER-REACTION?!
The way things stand, NOT to have fear- the healthy God-given fear that spurs us into constructive action- THAT is an OVER-REACTION!!
What our nation needs is the courage to face the threats that confront us, and to do that we must muster the courage to recognize the threats as the THREATS that they TRULY ARE!!! If we are to survive, we must learn to cope with the fear that comes with facing reality!!

  13. Steph says:

Smooth reminds me of a lib trying to tell me I’m stupid for having my own opinion about: How Frontpage delivers their facts.

You know what, Smooth, you’ve convinced me never to read them again. Obviously I’m just too stupid to understand it, right? In that case, the loss of my visits and the times I’ve referred to them on my own blog will be no great loss to anyone.

Yes, Dub, fear is a great motivator, but if the level of fear is very high, we lose the ability to think clearly and we become immobilized… the “fight or flight mechanism”. It’s a very fine line easy to cross.

  14. MLF says:

Steph, to paraphrase your own words, you may be too stupid to read this site! What kind of comment was that? Sheesh!

  15. Steph says:

“Steph, to paraphrase your own words, you may be too stupid to read this site! What kind of comment was that? Sheesh!”

    You’re probably right.

  16. MLF says:

    Thought so!

  17. MLF says:

Steph, I suppose this means you are all insulted. Well, I posted the link to this Front Page article, not Smooth. I did so for a very good reason and I believe it to be true!

Smooth is a very good friend of mine and was NOT trying to tell you you’re stupid for having your own opinion. Smooth is anything but a Lib! You and Smooth were having a discussion and you were presenting your opinions based on your feelings and not backed up by any facts. Seems to me, you were reacting like a liberal and Smooth was acting like a conservative, don’t you think?

  18. donfrommanassas says:

opps, excuse me I’ll come back later.

  19. twins3499 says:

I have to say that I would rather a motivating fear encompass the country than a blind willful apathy or a blase attitude toward the threats we face.

  20. StevetheConservative says:

    Steph

If you want to see a conservative publication that succumbs to conspiracy theories, you should take a look at World Net Daily and their articles about the supposed NAU which has no evidence of happening. These people who talk about the NAU on that site have a basis of scaring others into believing that it is happening.

Fear can be a nightmare and drive anyone to insanity but if there is a solution to the things you fear, you can take action or live your life. So fear can keep you on your toes if controlled propertly.
