If you’d have asked me three years ago if I’d be happy in 2007 with the status quo, I’d have laughed. But it’s become painfully clear that NO bill is far better than a NEW bill.
Will the borders be properly addressed anytime soon?? I still have my doubts. But make no mistake: if this bill had passed the senate and the house, it would’ve accomplished EXACTLY the same thing the 1986 bill did:
It would’ve QUADRUPLED the problem.

Hooray for Jeff Sessions and everyone who worked so hard to kill this suicide-pact scamnesty bill!! Obama and Clinton voted FOR this travesty, and the memory of THIS will not be far from the electorate’s mind throughout this upcoming election year!!! And the Fairness Doctrine stuff was voted down, today, too!! I think that I am going to get some fireworks this year, and do the Fourth Of July right!!

Dick Morris predicted that the Republicans would fare poorly in the 08 races because they will be perceived by the voting Hispanic population as having killed this bill. This is the same Dick Morris that predicted that as a result of this Bill a Republican could never again win a national election after 2012. Furthermore didn’t Morris understand that it is the Republican base that would have turned on the electorate in 2008? Possibly now, with some fine-tuning, the conservative majority that is this Country (Democrats and Independents as well) will realize the benefit of having Republican leadership over liberal Democrat leadership. I might add that legal Hispanics will also feel the same way.
On a similar note NBC stated that failure of Immigration Bill passage was a defeat for Conservatives. Yes, you read correctly, we the Conservatives who were probably the most vocal and most determined to see this bill demolished have now suffered a defeat. Go figure… Any wonder why their ratings have so severely dropped?
In the meantime I’m seriously considering a move to Alabama.
Well it was a good day but it is far from over. I have a feeling these slimeballs will start pushing this crap through in another form of bills. I wish they would open their eyes and realize that securing the borders just doesn’t lie within securing the borders. It has to do with a whole host of other issues that we as Americans are concerned with.
It has to do with National Security. Damn that might just be too hard for them to figure out.
It has to do with lowering crime. Head over to East L.A. and see how gangs have run amuck. Take a look at how gangs control their side of the border and the crap that flows over into our country.
It has to do with healthcare. Senators, we need our hospitals to stay open and not go bankrupt.
It has to do with education. We cant have our classrooms loaded to the roof with kids and why should I have to pay for someone else’s kids educations if you aren’t paying taxes also?
It has to do with trying to keep Social Security afloat.
It has to do with property taxes. More and more people in one area and not everyone paying into the system? My taxes go up.
It has to do with pollution. Look at all the garbage that is thrown around when the illegals cross the border.
I am sure there are a lot more issues but those were just off the top of my head.
task, I like listening to Dick Morris…..but you’re absolutely correct. His election prognostications are wrong as often as they’re correct (perhaps MORE often).
I believe Dick tends to say things that either “promote” himself (i.e. that without Condoleezza Rice on the 2008 Republican ticket, as he espouses in his book, the party will lose to her) or are intended as a
“scare” tactic. We KNOW he doesn’t want Hillary to be elected…..so he advances this theory that somehow she’ll get this new, unwashed wave of “single female voters” that no Republican candidate can compete with.
This is clearly absurd, IMO. That “wave” came out in mass in 2004 to defeat Bush……and it didn’t work. Conversely, Hillary will turn out the “defeat Clinton” vote in an even BIGGER fashion in ’08 than the Michael Moore “Hate Bush” crowd responded in ’04.
Add to that the fact that even HONEST Democrat strategists (like Pat Caddell) have refuted Morris’s claims by pointing out that there are far more women who HATE Hillary than there are who like her.
As I said….I like Dick, but I believe there’s METHOD to some of his madness.

“We The People” DID IT!! . . . but we can’t let up. They will try to run this bill through another way. We need to be vigilant.
Has anyone heard the song called “Press One For English” by Don and Kay Rivoli? If you haven’t, you definitely need to go to YouTube and check this video out. It is awesome and says it all in a good way.
We can make predictions all day long, but the bottom line is the borders must be secured ASAP! “We The People” put enough pressure on our Senators and Congressmen to defeat the so-called amnesty bill. Now, we don’t need to rest on our laurels just yet. We definitely need to increase the pressure and demand that they secure our borders, NOW! Folks . . . This can and must be done!
If we do nothing, we will find ourselves living in a communist/socialist North American Union that will include Canada and Mexico. I don’t know about you guys, but I think it is worth the extra effort to rattle our Senators’ and Congressmen’s cages in order to remain in a free America.
By the way, I am for Legal Immigration where you stand in line, wait your turn, assimilate into the American Culture, learn the language, and be proud to be an American.
