Steve in Amityville, NY called in to Mark and really laid it out clear and concise, about the back-stabbing our politicians are giving to our brave troops. Such an impressive statement.
Steve, you, sir, are a Great American. Please call again.

Today Hillary ranted & raved (with eyes bugging out like a turkey vulcher on crack cocaine) that if SHE were president in 2002, she would’ve NEVER gotten us into this war.
Folks, this is absolutely PATHOLOGICAL.
We’ve all heard her senate floor speeches from October 2002 about why it WAS so necessary to remove Saddam Hussein. And we all remember when her damn husband made the exact same case as president in 1998.
But have you watched the video on YouTube.com where she confronts the goofy “Code Pink” crowd about her vote to authorize war???
Hell, during parts of her monologue, she sounded more like DICK CHENEY than Hillary Clinton, she was so damn adamant about the necessity to topple Saddam for our security.
She even went so far as to say that her “research” went back “more than a decade” (i.e. HER OWN HUSBAND’S ADMINISTRATION).
If there was even a FRACTION sanity left in our political process, this kind of perverse, twisted hypocricy would’ve ended her campaign for presidency before it ever got started. This is absolutely DISGUSTING!
If you haven’t already seen the video, go to YouTube.com & type in “Hillary meets Code Pink” in the search bar.
I never thought I’d say it……but this is even WORSE flip-flopping than Kerry did on Iraq in 2004.
If the Republican party doesn’t use this as their number-one campaign ad against this phony, power-drunk battle-ax from now until November 2008, they’re freaking STUPID!
P.S.: Good call, Steve in Amityville!
It’s “black & white” for me: the congress and its members are repulsive and I have nothing but contempt for a majority of the do-nothings on the Hill – on the other side, the military men and women fill me with awe and I have the utmost respect for them. I could never be as brave as those fighting in Iraq and I will always be grateful for what they do. Regardless of what those small-minded and useless politicians in Congress and the slimey media spew forth.
To a degree, I agree with you, dcmale……..but we have to vote for SOMEBODY.
With a few vomit-inducing exceptions (Hagel & the like), there’s still a HUGE difference between the two parties as it pertains to the issue of supporting our military when they’re out defending us. To say otherwise (or worse yet, to “boycott” at the ballot box) is downright foolish, IMO.
