If ever there was an openly gay man, an openly communist sympathizer, and a patently absurd poet, it was Allen Ginsberg! If Weiner could not discern these tendencies at the height of Ginsberg’s notoriety , then he is even more obtuse than I thought he was! But Weiner says that he only found out about these things about Ginsberg “years later”! If that is true, then Weiner is an idiot. And if it is not, then he is a liar! Personally, I think that he is BOTH!
I used to listen to Weiner, that is, until he cancelled his own show on XM (a really dumb move, in my opinion). Now I can’t hear him. But that’s fine with me; I felt like the man made me angry and wanted me to boil over with rage. Who needs that?! I certainly don’t. I like Mark’s style a lot more — funny, smart, and to the point.
