And folks…it goes way beyond liberalism.

Most people are apathetic, and utterly incapable of seeing things from a global and historical perspective. The mainstream media can easily sway these fools into believing anything because each form (print – tv – radio) supports the other.

Not many people take the time to understand what is truly going on…and you can bet that our enemies know this. I’m sure many libs would suddenly be pro-NRA if they saw American’s being shot in our streets. At very least, the libs are engaged, albeit misguided. It’s the people that are apathetic now (post 9/11) are likely to remain so, regardless of what happens on the world stage. Some people will never wake up because their artificial dreamland is too pleasant.

Thank you to all Levinites….I feel less alone in this big, complex world.

I did read the whole thing… I stress the importance of History to my kids (24 and 22) to really understand how we are free, and who paid for that freedom. As we get further and further away from WWII and prior, we (Americans) are forgetting what it took and takes to stay free. The Jihadi’s understand one thing, force, so I say let’s oblige them.

Good post, John! And thank you,Mr. Kraft. This is a very powerful article. I especially note the comparisons of lives lost. There’s a reason we call the soldiers of that war “the greatest”. But, I must say that THIS generation of soldiers is right there with them because of the kind of was these young men and women have to fight. My president never said it would be quick or clean. He said just the opposite. I’m glad his eyes are wide open and not stuck in his wife’s pocketbook like Kerry.

The Jihadists plan to kill us. It is not a case of. “What did we do to make them hate us? Let’s ask them to tea and discuss the misunderstanding”. We are different then them. In our culture, philosophy and religion, we practice freedoms them have no concept of understanding or appreciating. There is no room for compromise in their agenda of world domination. The very accusations of intolerance that are laid upon the Judeo-Christian population of America by the liberal left are more rightly fitted to Islamic beliefs and actions. Already the proverbial camel of Islamic thought and dictatorial behavior is being forced upon the West in the form of discrimination and intiminating comments. No liberal voice has been heard when hate speech has been uttered by the Jihadists. No ACLU case has been filed with the courts when children have been forced to practice the Islamic religion in public schools. The continual appeasement of the left may well become a rapid slide into kowtowing to the Islamic hordes as they murder and enslave the citizens of our country.

The author says: ” the Left.. favor(s)..civil rights, liberty… and freedom, …not for Iraqis. In America, absolutely, but nowhere else.”
Well, not quite. The fact is what they favor is MORE “rights” (privaleges) for them at the expence of others or “redistribution” (you know, like Dillinger). Since Iraqis do not factor into that equation, the left does not care. (BUT baby seals…absolutely!)

But if you insist on trying to “educate” the WILLFULLY IGNORANT I suggest that you at least dumb down the language and add some cartoons.

You want to appease the Jihadis? Give up everything that your forefathers fought for?Allah forbid if they find out you are gay! The First Amendment will be overthrown when you are required to convert. Cruel and unusual punishment will be the norm. All those politically correct niceties about women’s rights? Forget it. Appeasement to these radicals is analogous to believing you can make a 10-year-old content by giving him one potato chip.

Liberals should realize that Jihadis bring with them the end of liberty. Engagement, not disengagement, is the answer. When the “Islamic Bomb” becomes a reality then the stakes will become all that more dire.
