The president’s remarks about Islamic fascism were critical, and so should be demands on the “moderate†Islamic community to disassociate itself from this war on the West. But instead we hear mostly charges of “Islamophobia,†never honesty about the profiles of those who wish to destroy an airplane, a skyscraper, or Jews in civic centers and airports. One example: Last week the state-run Palestinian newspaper ran racist cartoons of the American secretary of State; not a single American-Muslim organization voiced outrage at this, much less the Middle East daily fare of Jews as apes and pigs. So to conclude of only the latest effort of savages to murder thousands: Westerners in general are seeing that their civilization will not continue if hourly radical Muslims are trying to destroy it with liquid explosives, or germs, or other various sorts of terror  and at some point they are going to ask of everyone, to paraphrase the president, “Are you with us or with the terrorists?†It’s that simple, no more equivocating, no more “Of course  BUT.… “ We need no more multicultural gibberish  just a simple question, “Is the West worth preserving from its 7th-century enemies or not?† Victor Davis Hanson

Sgt. Tim …. ThanQ soooo much for this !!!
Lord Levin as ALWAYS REVEALS THE TRUTH.
God Bless our Lord Levin.
Sgt. Tim, to answer the question …….
I would welcome any type of FREEDOM/Democracy to Liberate my Country, if we needed outside help.
But ….if you’re a Lu Lu Lib, we know that they APPEASE & ADORE the Terrorists (whether they’re are here, or abroad) !!! They wouldn’t welcome it!!
But….if YOU ARE A GREAT AMERICAN, we would DESPISE & ABORT the idea of any TYPE OF Terrorists !! The Terrorists would keep us in the 7th Century ….. THAT’S FOR D*MMMM SURE !!
I am tired, no sick to death of Politically Correct nonsense, these people are Islamic fascists. What are we supposed to do, call them misguided youths?
They want to kill us, hell they said it, what is the denial about?
Since the 1st Century we, as human beings, have grown from Spiritual-thinking slowly into flesh-thinking beings. We need to realize that there are powers and principalities in high (unseen spiritual) places influencing and inciting the evil that we perceive with our senses. Those who “believe” know that the power is in the spirit-prayer world and has little to do with the spoken words we say and hear. These terrorists (not to mention the left-wing liberals) need deliverance. Can we love those who hate us and spitefully use us? Can we humble ourselves to get on our knees and ask that they be DELIVERED from evil? THIS will save the West . . . the World. (“If love does not win out, evil will just come back under a different name.” -Pope John Paul II, who was severely oppressed by the Nazis.)
delta07131 (your name sounds like a flight that the terrorists would LOVE to blow up!)- your pacifism is naive and dangerous. You are arrogant in the way that you have largely exempted yourself from the struggle against the evil which we can see by attributing it to forces that we cannot. And you look down on those of us who hate that which is evil as being spiritually blind creatures of the flesh.
Your arrogance and your condescending tone toward those who are fighting and dying to defeat our enemies give aid and comfort to our enemies. Your words and attitudes are treasonous. I say to hell with you.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!
delta are you saying this country and others that are being attacked by Islamisists should just give up and pray instead? Prayer is great, but pray that we win this battle.
You cannot have a reasonable talk of peace with an unreasonable person that would prefer to cut off your head.
Burlem and DubinDallas, I appologize for coming across as arrogant. I ask you to forgive me for that. I think you highly misunderstand my intentions though. Yes, since we are living for the most part in the flesh, we should wipe the enemy out entirely. Absolutely leaving NONE (that is Biblical). I think the Israeli’s have been valiant but weak in their offensive. I back them 100 percent! I am so proud of every American soldier fighting in Iraq and around the world and totally thank God for them all. I love this country with all of my heart. I love our President, Mr. Bush and his staff and am so glad we have them in office during these times.
I know that this enemy is sooo evil that it scares me that we may not be able to totally eliminate them in the flesh. After all, The Iranians (Basij sect, Amadinejad is a member) used human waves of innocents, including children as young as nine years old)tied together and forced them to walk through mine fields to clear them in front of their TANKS during the Iran-Iraq war. If they will murder their own children in such a horrific and evil way, how can our children, indeed ourselves be safe??? How do we combat this wicked thinking?
So . . . What I was trying to say, since this islamo-fascism is so vile, is that we (God-fearing Judeao/Christians)have much more power on the SPIRITUAL side than what most of us have been led to believe, indeed, more than we have in the flesh. I simply advocate “doing” what Jesus said (pray for your enemies) instead of just repeating the words and blindly reach for the physical/fleshly/ emotional answer. In the end it may be our only HOPE.
Try it out. The evil one did indeed BOW THE KNEE in Great Britain this week, now didn’t he? I thank The Lord God for His Word, His Mercy.
(By the way I include my deceased son’s birthdate in my screen name. In his honor.)
No apology necessary, I apparently misinterpreted your message.
I am sorry for the loss of your son, how did he die?
Thanks for your reply, Burlem, I sometimes miss getting to the point and instead go to the solution. At any rate, my son died in 1998 in of all things a football game. They said it was because of something like the shaken baby syndrome from being hit over and over. He was in a coma for ten days. I still think of him every day. What a great warrior he would have been now. He would have been one of the first to sign up for the Marines, and he was a sweet, honorable and decent young man of 16.
Tell me something about yourself and your family.
I am so sorry for your loss. How difficult that must have been, Why was he hit over and over?? HighSchool Football should not be like that.
Burlem, just want to say that it was a High School JV game (sophomore). We had only lived in this town for six months. He was the most valuable player on the team because he could switch between offense and defense. He played in every play that night switching back and forth. They were losing miserably, thus the pressure on him was great. Later we watched films from both teams over and over and could not detect more than a couple hard hits, and there were many smaller ones. Part of his team’s tape was missing.
Russ was the type of kid who would practice until he got it perfect. He encouraged his team mates to keep going till they got it right too, and stuck with them until they did (once in the strafing rain of an approaching thunder storm). Also he would volunteer to stay after practice to help the coaches clean up the locker room, as the head varsity coach put it, “With a HAPPY on.”
So, in the game that night he kept striving for the win. Trying, trying, trying. After the game he walked off the field holding his head, sat down on the bench and a few minutes later passed out never to reawaken. The whole town waited while he stayed in a coma for ten long days. All four of my sons have played football; I have never seen anything like this happen before.
Hundreds of people attended his memorial services here, and in our original home town. After his death the school district named a yearly scholarship award to go to the most improved player on the football team. They retired his number “13.” In our home town they planted a tree on the edge of the football field in his memory. Even the coaches here started naming training techniques after him (“Put a Rusty on”). Also they erected a memorial plaque with his picture (bronzed) and script at the entrance to the football field, which read in part: “a sweet, honorable, and decent young man.â€ÂÂ
I could have sued the school district, but somebody has to stop this crazy suing. Besides, nothing could bring my boy back, that’s all that I would count valuable, or comforting.
Don’t worry, we take great joy in the fact that he now walks with Jesus, and many others know the Lord, because of him (90 plus souls were won to the Lord at his services).
Thanks for asking, sorry this is so long.
It has been good to go over this again.
OK delta07131, NOW you’re talking some sense! I no longer say “The Hell with you!”. I now believe that what you are saying is that we who are struggling against this evil should not neglect the spiritual side of the battle, something that is all too easy to do when one’s finger is squeezing a trigger.
On the other hand, it is said that there are no atheists in foxholes. And since both sides pray to God for victory, what truly matters is for us to be on God’s side. And in this war on terror, we ARE on God’s side!
I too was saddened to hear of your loss. Football is a rough sport that claims victims every season. I know that over that past 8 years that you have been developing a real rapport with the spirit of your departed son. I suspect that it is he who inspired you to write about the importance of not neglecting the spiritual side of this war on terrorism- even while we continue to fight to exterminate the terrorists that would love to exterminate and to enslave us. He sounds like he was a plucky kid who wouldn’t want to let down his team when he had taken a brutal hit. He would have made a fine Marine!
Our discussion reminds me of a poem that was written by Howard Nemerov, the third Poet Laureate of the United States. It is entitled “The God Of This World”. The poem is an elegant couplet: He smiles to see His children, born to sin/ Digging all those foxholes there are no atheists in.
May God bless you!
