Wednesday, Mark discussed the Moussaoui sentence of “Life in Prison” by reading the article, ‘The Verdict’, by John Podhoretz and spoke with Sgt. Tim Sumner again.
Mark’s right, this is a bad outcome! Unfortunately, I’m starting to get used to bad outcomes these days!
Later in the show, Mark also spoke with Debra Burlingame.

“America, you lost – I won.”
The American jury is made up of two types of people. There are those who count their toes at night as they endeavor to find a new truth to replace one which has forever been valid. Sad to say, there are only ten toes.
Then there are the ones which get a good night’s sleep, content in the knowledge that 2 + 2 = 4. Unfortunately, these jurors amount to no more than ballast.
Now we are saved from the burden of a martyr on our conscience. Instead we have a hero and the inevitable question:
What will be demanded for his release?
I imagine there will be more hostage taking in Iraq!
This is not only an open invitation to hostage takers, we’ve just rolled out the welcome mat to all the worlds evil doers to reek havoc on us here in the USA. We could pray for devine intervention or that of an inventive and patriotic corrections officer. Justice has truly not been served.
I origninally deleted this comment from Al Cooke, but since we are getting extra visitors today from NRO & michellemalkin.com, I thought you folks would like to read this:
The really sad thing about this is it would appear that Al works for a branch of our military!
Moussoui will live in literal hell. He will go mad. I can’t think of a better place for him to live out the rest of his beastly live. Super max prisons are an abomination…however, this hell hole is just right for this devil. Rejoice!
Al Cooke said “One needs to realize that this guy was just a plainf and simple nut case”
Well Al, I get the impression that because you think this guy is a nutcase, you think that he shouldn’t be held to account for his actions.
Well I agree with you that this guy is a nut case. Bin Laden is a nut case too. Should we not kill him?
And by the way Al… Terrorists are the enemy. I wouldn’t think that I would have to explain that to someone that appears to be in the military.
Don’t worry, FF4B, Al Cooke probably works in the mess hall!
Remember Jihad Johnny Lind he wrote a book. This waste of skin will be a hero in the mode of Tookie Williams and Mumia to a certain segment of people in this country.
He will have a tv and 6 channels to choose from at our expense. Doesn’t sound like hell to me.
His mother will be able to visit him as John Gotti’s family did. While almost 3000 families have only a grave to visit and some without any remains in that grave.
Mandela was imprisoned under worse conditions and managed to survive and prosper. People adapt. Death would have been just. Lwop is not justice for the dead victims of 9/11. He may be a nut in your opinion, but he was found competent to stand trial by psychiatric professonals.
Clasina, you might be right about what life in a Super Max prison will be like for Moussaoui. From how I’ve heard it described, it does sound very dismal, thankfully, and I heard someone who was knowledgeable on the subject say that people do, indeed, go mad after a while. We can only hope that it’s that horrible for him.
It’s true there may be hostage-taking in Iraq and elsewhere as a result of imprisoning Moussaoui, but with these nutjobs, who’s to say that wouldn’t happen if he got the death penalty as well? Like these animals need an excuse to slit someone’s throat.
First and foremost i am a miliatry vetern with over 25 years of active duty service with the airforce as a aviation mechanic and I dont work in the chow hall and my military days are well behind me. The verdict that jurors gave was one that was right but most of the you law and order conservatives cant see past that. Our system of justice did work despite what hannity and levin say and all they want to do is blame everything on liberal democrats. Enough with the bashing of the democratic party not every democrat is liberal as is every conservative is not a republican either wake up you dopes as the great one says
Whatever you did Al, the Air Force is better off without you sabotaging it’s aircraft. I hope that you and whatever chemical indulgence you prefer find solace in the fact that this verdict guarantees more attacks on our soil.
In response to alcooke: I thank you for your 25 years. I put in a mere three. However…
I’d say that Hannity and Levin – if one doesn’t mind my capitalizing their names – simply presented their arguments for what they considered to be a necessity for a death sentence. The verdict is out there for us to discuss. That our system of justice worked is acknowledged by Mr. Moussaoui having a trial with his head attached to his body, the outcome of which was decided by a jury. As for those selected being his “peers,” I’m not sure how useful it would have been to comb through insane asylums or myspace.com in order to locate those which would fit the strictest of definitions. Not being a perfect system (can you name one?), the American jury system is often open to questions regarding the possible motives of a jury. Why, with them being bombarded by the negativism of the liberal press, I could understand why.
There is also the question of why this case was not subject to military justice – a very legitimate question.
As for these two commentators blaming liberals, well…there is much blame to consider. You will also note, if possible, that beyond the schtick there is substance and documentation supporting their arguments. You might also have noted that they are not in lock step with Republicans nor all conservatives. Perhaps you’ve found the discourse on AirAmerica more erudite? More civilized and not resorting to name-calling and temper tantrum?
Are we to understand that by having an opinion on so consequential an issue, one which is decidely different than yours, we are to be considered “dopes” who need to “wake up?” Interesting. It seems to me that by the nature of the discourse here, it is we conservatives, who readily confess a preference for a society of “law and order” (and what on Earth would you have?), are the ones who are alert and have no need for pharmacological stimuli to remain so.
Perhaps it’s time for the allegorical pot to sit quietly besides the kettle?
I am having a hard time believing that alcooke is a veteran, because if he is I would expect him to at least know how to spell it. And alcooke, can you please explain to me what the problem is with law and order? Without it you have something you and your lib friends love, which is anarchy. Also, if Moussaoui doesn’t deserve death for the roll he played in murdering 2700+ humans, whose only crime was going to work, then what do you have to do in order to receive the death penalty? You say enough with the bashing and then call us dopes? Can you say hypocrite, or are there too many syllables in that word?
I guess ol’ alcooke agreed with the OJ verdict and the Robert Blake verdict as well. Justice is blind and sometimes gets it wrong. This time, she got it wrong.
saxmachine its idots like you that keep this going. i dont do drugs but i am sure that some of these people who read do and as far as sabotaging aircraft you better have the your facts right before inferring that about some one does justice can be blind and sometimes unfair as well but idiotd like you are born everyday keep believing in the rethoric you hear for some has to believe in it i just buy it
Al, what’s an “idot”?
And have your heard about this thing called “Grammar” and “sentence structure”? How about “punctuation”?
I wouldn’t accuse you of sabotaging…until I had some proof…but you seem to be…an “idot”!?!
Al if you are asking if some people who do drugs also read I am sure they can and do. However your writing fails to prove your statement that you don’t do drugs. As to your opinions if not the result of some heavy drug use please explain what on Earth it is the result of.
Hey Al Kook, I’m not sure what ‘rethoric’ you speak of, but your blatant illiteracy tells me that you couldn’t have been in the Boy Scouts much less the Air Force. I also don’t believe that anyone would trust you to fix a lawn mower much less a military aircraft. As for me being an ‘idot’, I do have some friends of Indian ancestry and I take exception to your racial slurs, only an idiot would use such invective. My ancestry is Irish by the way.
Why don’t you take your hatred and your vitriol over to Democratic underground, they’re illiterate dolts just like you.
twins3499, I had just consoled myself with the hellish appearance of the facility at Marion, Illinois and had sold myself on Moussaoui’s living with extreme sensory deprivation. Are you sure that he will have TV with 6 channels?
I’m angry now, all over again!
I’m hoping we can charge him with some new crimes, find him guilty of those, and then lock him into a condemned skyscraper and implode the building onto him.
What is wrong with America? When did we get to be so soft and namby-pamby? What sort of provocation is enough for us to become as hard as our enemy? I shudder to think…
Now that A virginia jury has proven to him how America is not serious about punishing those who would kill us all and how easy it is to manipulate a jury is it any wonder th Moussaoui has stated he lied and will withdraw his guilty plea. I’m sure he feels the next jury will find him not guilty based on the assinine justification for sparing this lump of excrement his life.
You can’t withdraw your plea AFTER the trial is over!
MLF, with the libtards in out system of justice right now, it would not surprise me is some lib judge grants his motion. Like The Great One said, if this scumbag Mouse-wowie can withdraw his plea then we can withdrawn the life sentence. But I would add thet we off the terrorist asshat today.
“America, you lost – I won.â€ÂÂ
Is that right? Who’s the schmuck now Moussaoui? I hope you rot in hell.
And to Mr. Al Cooke: It was a liberal democrat that built the wall that allowed Moussaoui and his al-Qaeda friends to operate in this country to carry out the 9/11 attacks.
It was a liberal democrat that allowed Osama Bin Laden to slip away at least one half a dozen times prior to the 9/11 attacks.
It has been the liberal democrats that have weakened the military and looted the intel agencies budgets prior to 9/11.
Why do you keep defending these hypocrite losers that play politics with the security of this nation and the safety of the american people?
But can an appelate court reverse the verdict based on this? We all know how judges like to make law rather than interpret it.
And it was a liberal democrat who reversed the policy of nine previous administrations and sold missle technology to the Red Chinese who now have used that technology to target cities in the american mainland.
And it was a liberal democrat who gave North Korea nuclear technology that enabled them to develop a nuclear weapons program.
I think Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and conservative talk radio have provided a necessary and valuable service to the american people.
By exposing the communist/socialist left, who at this time in history are running the democrat party, they are helping to keep this country safe.
Until the mainstream “news” outlets stop carrying the water for these communists in our government, conservative talk radio is a place where the liberal agenda will be exposed for what it is. A DESTRUCTIVE FORCE IN OUR CULTURE AND A THREAT TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY!
Liberalism; Culture of Treason.
Moussaoui’s quote, “America, you lost – I won” comment is all the more funny/sad/strange now that he wants a new trial. Suddenly the reality of being locked up in prison the rest of his life has cleared his memory. He should have gotten death, but squirming in solitary for 24 hours a day doesn’t appear to be that much fun either.
John’s quote to Mouse-owie; “My butt, you can kiss it.”
