40 flags and angels at Flight 93 memorial
Thursday, Mark played the trailer from the movie United 93, which will be released tomorrow. Then Mark read an article by David Beamer, whose son Todd Beamer uttered the famous words, “Let’s Roll”, to begin the resistance by passengers saving many lives on the ground on 9/11.
A Flight 93 father’s report
“…Often we attend movies to escape reality and fantasize a bit. In this case and at this time, it is appropriate to get a dose of reality about this war and the real enemy we face. It is not too soon for this story to be told, seen and heard. But it is too soon for us to become complacent. It is too soon for us to think of this war in only national terms. We need to be mindful that this enemy, who made those holes in our landscape and caused the deaths of some 3,000 of our fellow free people, has a vision to personally kill or convert each and every one of us. This film reminds us that this war is personal. This enemy is on a fanatical mission to take away our lives and liberty  the liberty that has been secured for us by those whose names are on those walls in Battery Park and so many other walls and stones throughout this nation. This enemy seeks to take away the free will that our Creator has endowed in us. Patrick Henry got it right some 231 years ago. Living without liberty is not living at all.† David Beamer, father of Todd Beamer of Flight 93, writing in the Wall Street Journal, after seeing the premier of United 93, at the Tribeca Film Festival, this past Tuesday night.

Great words from a great man. United 93 is meant to help the viewer witness what took place on that flight and for those whose lost family members it must be an unbelievably personal and intense experience.
People like David and Todd Beamer remind us of what is right about America. Fighting for our liberty is not an option, it is our responsibility.
My wife and I going to watch the movie on a date tomorrow. What a great show from Mark today!!
Yes it was! You had a good call, too! I’ll try to post that tomorrow.

ChickNHawk …. my husband & I have a “date” tomorrow nite, too. We will miss our Lord Levin’s show, for out date….. by the way, that was a GREAT call !!
I’m glad this film is out. It’s time to get back our resolve. This country has grown too damn complacent. For most of the country, 9/11 was NIMBY. Once the dust settled, for most it was Not In My Back Yard and proceeded to go on with their lives. But for those who lost loved ones especially, and for New Yorkers who saw their beloved city burning, no one can tell us that we shouldn’t fight brutal ideologies. If our free press won’t show the images of the burning World Trade Towers, then this film will have to do. There are hundreds and thousands of Americans who will not bend the knee and pander to Muslim intolerance and try to cover up their barbarianism for them. It’s time to put away the old “small minority of extremists” argument. We tiptoe around their shrines and mosques like scared little girls. Until we stop “battling insurgents”, fighting “foreign entities”, or “confronting the Saddam loyalists”, and get on to the real order of business, we will never win the real war against the real enemy.
Suzi and I may come out of this movie tonight in tears, but my anger will exceed my sorrow.
Most folks not need TV, a newspaper, or the internet to show them the images of 9/11. With our eyes opened or closed, there they are — there they are:

Rush Limbaugh once said that, in a remote and purely philosophical way, he wished that the heroes on Flight 93 had not been so successful in downing the aircraft. His reason for it was that had the airplane actually have hit the White House, then the complacency level that the MSM and the Liberals have ginned up would have been much tougher to “gin up”. It would have been like the “money shot” from the movie “Independence Day” where the spacecraft explodes the White House- an image that would have been impossible to spin into something we as a people could regard as a mere “nuisance”.
I see Rush’s point- but maybe this movie will put the murderous evil of our sworn enemies back into the center of the thinking of the American people. I hope that that is the case.
I hope that the heroes of Flight 93 enter the American pantheon of heroes whose bravery and sacrifice purchased the freedom of us all.
But I have faith that Americans will
