   Why don’t we use the U.S. Army to patrol and to control all of our borders? Is it the individual states that are in the way of this occurring? Are the individual border states like “School Bus” Nagin in that they do not know about “posse comititatus”, and are just expecting the Federal Government to deploy soldiers for the sole purpose of identifying, capturing, and repatriation of illegal aliens? Would the President find it easier politically if all of the border states petition President Bush for an Army mobilization within their State’s borders?
   If anyone can enlighten me about the pluses and perils of using the U.S. Army to secure the borders and the interior of the United States- I would love to hear it.
   Could the bureaucracies that currently are charged with the control of the borders and of the interior be deputized into the service of the U.S. Army?
   Rush Limbaugh asks, “Will we ever get serious?”-and I for one will not feel that we are serious unless we wage a war on illegal immigration with a real Army- the U.S. Army!
   Why not?

   I don’t know Dub, I could probably find a spinless, pandering, simpering wimp of a politician who could blather on in resounding platitudes about all of the benefits that these criminals bring to us and how they make our live so much better. But like me, you seem to be at your whits end about thes incursive invaders and would probably destroy something you may need “Like your monitor”. So instead, I’ll tell you that if they don’t put the Army on the border to catch any invaders who slip under or over the wall that they must build, we should go down there ourselves and kick all their butts back to Juarez.

   Hey Ted, you drinking tequilla now? Just stop peeing on the senate floor, Sheets Byrd takes his naps on that hallowed ground. Excuse me Ms Frankenfeinstien, the life blood of this country are the legal residents and naturalized citizens of this great land. Not the foriegn law breakers who pass out drunk on the streets of Suffern and Spring Valley New York, and where ever else they happen to do the Roofing and Framing jobs that Americans won’t take.

   Oh by the way MD, great toon as always. You never let us down with your wonderful and timely artistry. Thank you for the gift you share with all of us.

   And once again, kudos to the cartoonist Mark Dean! I have seen the famous line translated this way: “I fear the Greeks, though gift on gift they bear.” I fear the Liberals in much the same way.
   And saxmachine, I speak Spanish almost fluently, and I would not rule out applying for a position on the team of that guy Sean Hannity went to go visit last summer- you know, the civilians who notify the authorities about the illegal aliens?
   I know that that organization has high standards for their personnel, and I would be proud to stand among them. That’s for starters.
   If it comes to the worst, then we will have to confront , capture, and repatriate them as far away in their countries of origin as we can. Back to Juarez? No! Back to the Yucatan Peninsula!
   And make it a capital offense if ever they should dare to return! We could implant the sort of monitoring chips that cattlemen use for their herds! And if a repatriated illegal alien ever returns- if he has a scar where the monitoring chips were implanted- and we will have all sorts of other biometric measurements which will give us a positive I.D.- then we will regard him as a belligerant combatant in our explicitly declared war on illegal immigration, and we will reserve the right to make the earth cumber him or her no more.

   That works for me Dub, this implant could even carry a small ampule of ricin which could be activated should they cross the border. We should also let poisonous snakes loose in the tunnels under the border, that could also make sneaking in a little less pleasant.

   If Onstar can open the average family’s automobile doors from a geosynchronous satellite, then what is to stop us from implanting a lethal dose of poison that we could open up from the same sort of satellite!
   What is wrong with putting up a wall? The Chinese did it to keep out their enemies- why can’t we?!
   I still am waiting for somebody to tell me why it is not possible to use the U.S. Army to enforce the border. I would hate to think that we are like “School Bus Nagin” in that we could have had Federal help sooner if only we had had the competence to ask in a timely way.
   This issue is explosive, and those who are in power now may not fool themselves- when a populace feels themselves to be overrun by illegal foreigners, the populace en masse does not think in terms of stop-gap feel-good political expedients. They think in terms of “ethnic cleansing” and “Final Solutions”.
   It is the job and the duty of Constitutionally elected officers to administer with a firm and decisive hand now – with the legally constituted forces at their disposal.
   If they do not, ruthless demagogues will rise up- unelected and bloodthirsty- and they will not be concerned at all with repatriation or even with capture. They will simply kill any invader that they see- or suspect!
   If using the U.S. Army now sounds draconian, what these goons will do in the future will be worse! We Americans are only human, and we have seen what humans do under the circumstances that now are brewing here.
   And I for one pray that we use firm and humane methods for getting control of our borders now- because if we don’t, somebody will use hideous Gestapo tactics for us (and ON US!) later.
