Once again, I hear ya, saxmachine! The Grey Lady is laying off workers so fast that "Pinch" Sulzberger (whose self-confidence, I am told, was forged in the Outward Bound program) should have a name for his continued layoffs:
"The Outward Bound Program!" I heard that he confronted his top staffers in a meeting , and to the meeting he brought a stuffed elephant- and by this he encouraged his inner circle of management not to be afraid to mention the "elephant in the room" that nobody heretofore has had the nerve to mention!
The word is out on the street that Sulzberger's position is at jeopardy- people have no fear of saying things about him like, "Once in a while you get a bad king!"
The only thing I like about the Old Grey Lady is the crossword puzzles. And I think that the Washington Times would give Will Shortz a job, should he be propelled through the "Outward Bound Program". So what on earth do we have to lose by letting the Old Grey Lady die the "euphoric" way that they so admire- the way that Terry Schiavo died!

Oops, somebody's gonna lose their post at the Post. This bit of truth can't get by and ruin the reputation of the bleak sister of the grey lady.

While I find the Post's coverage of the death of a war hero to be encouraging, I nevertheless lament upon noticing that the newspaper is 3 wars behind in its recognition of those who've defended its right to be so.

While I'm sure the Post will continue to keep us up to date on the all-absorbing activities of dingbats such as Cindy Sheehan and Alec Baldwin, I will now and again peer over their pages to see if more contemporary acts of heroism are considered newsworthy by their editors.
