Mark’s bumper music

by @ 12:08 pm on March 1, 2006. Filed under Mark Levin Audio

I’ve always wondered where Mark’s great bumper music comes from. Last night Mark gave us the answer! Linkin Park, “Somewhere I Belong”

“Somewhere I Belong”
(When this began)
I had nothing to say
And I get lost in the nothingness inside of me
(I was confused)
And I let it all out to find
That I’m not the only person with these things in mind
(Inside of me)
But all the vacancy the words revealed
Is the only real thing that I’ve got left to feel
(Nothing to lose)
Just stuck/ hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own[Chorus]
I wanna heal, I wanna feel what I thought was never real
I wanna let go of the pain I’ve held so long
(Erase all the pain till it’s gone)
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong
And I’ve got nothing to say
I can’t believe I didn’t fall right down on my face
(I was confused)
Looking everywhere only to find
That it’s not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
(So what am I)
What do I have but negativity
‘Cause I can’t justify the way, everyone is looking at me
(Nothing to lose)
Nothing to gain/ hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own[Repeat Chorus]I will never know myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel anything else, until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything till I break away from me
I will break away, I’ll find myself today

[Repeat Chorus]

I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m somewhere I belong
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m somewhere I belong
Somewhere I belong

Didn’t realize Mark is so Hip! He has great taste in music.

  2. twins3499 says:

sorry guys I’m too old for that. I’ll stick with Lee Greenwood, The military compilation and the motown stuff ML likes

  3. MarkLevinFan says:

twins3499, listen to it a couple more times! It grows on you! LOL!

  4. twins3499 says:

mlf on your advice I will give it a chance but we are yankee rednecks. We love country musuc

  5. firefighter4bush says:

It sucks! Bring back James Brown!

  6. Suziq says:

    Yeah 10-4 :) ….. James Brown “GOOOOOO MOTOWN !!!!”

  7. Kiwon says:

:-) LOL! You “old guys” are hilarious. “Somewhere I Belong” has been a hit since 2003. Also, I saw the “Word Up” song wrongly attributed somewhere on the Blog. Mark’s version was done by Korn in 2004. BTW – I like the Motown and Country too. I doubt Mark has a clue to any of it. His studio staff probably takes care of all that! LOL!

  8. Debbie says:

This was my daughters favorite band. When Mark’s show would open with this song, she would say, Hey Mommy, thats Lincoln Park (thinking thats how you spell it). She thought Mark was just too cool!

  9. MarkLevinFan says:

Kiwon, funny you should mention the “Word Up” song. When I origninally posted the lyrics for it, I DID contribute Korn, but someone “corrected” me, so I changed it! LOL!

  10. firefighter4bush says:

Word Up was originally done by Cameo.

Korn may have re-made it but the version I heard was done by Cameo.

Larry Blackmon was the “talent” if memory serves.

    Released 1986 http://www.mp3.com/albums/2667/summary.html

I seem to remember Mark commenting after a heavy metal song that it was one of his son’s favorites. I think Mark should get his Signature Song like Rush & Shawn, I would suggest ‘Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, Dennis Miller isn’t using it anymore. Either that or something by Toby Keith, maybe the Taliban Song.

If you want a good laugh, check out the video! http://www.mp3.com/albums/2667/summary.html
    Word!

  13. MarkLevinFan says:

    Yes, Korn covered it.

By the way, I heard “Somewhere I Belong” for the very first time when I took my kids rollerskating over the holidays! The rink was playing all of this garbage kids music. But when that song came on I said, “Hey, I’ve heard that before!” At least the beginning part of it! LOL!

  14. MarkLevinFan says:

tdudash, ‘Tears for Fears’? What have you been smoking? I told you to go here!

  15. Kiwon says:

Well, I can take most anything, but if Mark goes heavy into Hip-Hop I’m outta here! LOL!

  16. twins3499 says:

kiwon I’m with you about the hip hop my vote is Toby Keith’s Angry American

  17. goptwins says:

I think Mark should go with Toby Keith’s The Angry Anerican and he should go with the line, “We’ll put a booy in your A**. It’s the American way.

  18. CS says:

The perfect tune for Mark is “Get Over It” by The Eagels

  19. MarkLevinFan says:

You’re going to have to live with the bumper music Mark uses now! I don’t think Mark intends to change it.

  20. Kiwon says:

    goptwins,

A boot would be bad enough, but a “booy?” Man, that sounds like it’s gonna hurt! Too close to “buoy” for me! “Holy Impalement, Batman!” LOL!

  21. Suziq says:

Wheww….. I think this is the most hits on a post !!!

How about James Brown singing the Get Over It lyrics …. while Toby Keith is repeating the Word Up in the background LOL HEE LOL HEE LOL ….. THEN EVERYONE IS HAPPY :) :) :) !!!!!

  22. MarkLevinFan says:

No Suzi, this is the most comments on a post!

I have to admit that even though I’d prefer Little Feat or the Isley Brothers, that song kind of grows on you, like fungus. There are worse things coming out of musicdom these days, I kind of like that song.

  24. Suziq says:

    WOWWWWW … thanx #2 !!!

I DEFINITLEY overlooked this one !! I never even posted to it !!!!

  25. goptwins says:

I personally think that some people need a buoy up their a**. My US Senators are two for example. Once it’s up there I hope they float away with the orca.

  26. twins3499 says:

If they are with cco don’t you mean bloat

  27. firefighter4bush says:

Yes Saxmachine, it does grow on you. Actually, more like herpes! lol!

  28. analyst says:

I think the bumper selection and the short clip from it they use has power that exemplifies the way ML speaks. So they should keep it. The words seem to reflect what libs should be musing after he runs over them each day.

  29. gwilhelm56 says:

Us “OLD GUYS?” If it weren’t for us “OLD GUYS,” you wouldn’t have the great music you have today (it’s all copied from OUR stuff). Age didn’t make me old. Becoming a Grandfather didn’t make me old. Finding out I’m on a RHINO Record… THAT makes me feel old. You “YOUNG GUYS,” google it.

  30. saxmachine says:

Hey GW56, Bach guys were saying that about Mozzart guys. I consider it a badge of honor to find the stuff I love on RHINO (not RINO) records, it’s where the really great stuff lives (Blues that is). My bigest problem is that the kids today are not spending time to learn real instruments. I will use a drum machine to practice or to work on something in the middle of the night, but I’d rather hav ea real human behind those drums or at that keyboard. Technology is a means to an end, not an end in itself.

  31. “OLD GUYS”?? I resemble that remark!!
